According to data from people.cn, Chinese hanfu consumers was over 2 million in 2018. A recent report estimates that by the end of this year,     1     number of people using hanfu products in China will reach 6.89 million, with total sales expected     2     (add) up to 10.16 billion yuan.

Why has the traditional clothing made a comeback in recent years?

For Qingzhi, a law student from Communication University of China, wearing hanfu to class every day gives her     3     (inspire). Qingzhi said she liked to explore various outfits within her hanfu collection. By matching the clothing     4     modern accessories (配饰), she can find a unique look.

In the China Pavilion at the sixth China International Import Expo in Shanghai, a piece of bamboo art resembling a Taihu Lake Stone was the center of attention. It was the work of Qian Lihuai, an inheritor of traditional bamboo weaving techniques.

“Bamboo weaving lacks documented records; the skills have always been passed down orally. I spent     3     considerable period interviewing seasoned craftsmen     4     carefully gathering records of weaving techniques,” Qian explains.

After understanding the foundational logic of bamboo weaving and the patterns, Qian began to add artistic     5     (touch) to his bamboo weaving.

“My artistic innovation centers around     6     weaving can convey the nature of the world. For instance, we employ a     7     (diversity) range of colors to strengthen its expressive potential, filling bamboo weaving with a convincing language,” Qian adds.

I believe it can be used as an excellent adhesive (粘合剂) with other materials,” Qian explains.

He has also taught his bamboo weaving techniques at Zhejiang University of Science and Technology, and says previously the course     10     (design) to encourage open-minded thinking, exploring the ways to integrate bamboo weaving expertise into different fields.

Dazu Rock Carvings refers to all of the 102 cliffside carvings in Dazu district, Chongqing. The     1     (construct) of those rock carvings dates back to 650, and continued into the 17th century. The scenic area     2     (add) to the World Heritage List in December 1999.

The two began to create the series of handmade paper products from 2021. Each volume is made up of thirty types of handmade paper, each of     9     is sourced from its place of origin. At present, two volumes of the series have been produced, and they plan     10     (make) ten volumes.

Hanfu, or Han-style clothing, one of the     1     (old) types of clothing in the world, is becoming popular again.
