文章大意:这是一篇新闻报道。文章主要讲的是穿越不丹步道的重新开通让人们去神秘不丹旅游的梦想终于成真。

1 . Bhutan is one of the world’s most mysterious(神秘的)countries. Visiting it can be challenging, but there’s a new drive to finally cross it off the bucket list in 2022, as its breathtaking Trans Bhutan Trail(小径)will be reopening to travelers for the first time in 60 years.

According to the Bhutan Canada Foundation -the main donor to the restoration project — the 250-mile route connects nine districts, 28 local governments, one national park and 400 historic and cultural sites. Travelers who follow the entire trail route will cross 18 major bridges and climb 10,000 stairs. It will be possible to walk or mountain bike there.

“This is a community-based project in both its building and operation which will restore an ancient cultural treasure and provide a sustainable, net zero carbon experience in the country for travelers,” says Sam Blyth, chair of the Bhutan Canada Foundation. “The Trans Bhutan Trail also reflects the country’s philosophy of Gross National Happiness and will allow the children of Bhutan to walk in the footsteps of their ancestors.”

The trail’s westernmost point is the town of Haa, which is near the border with Tibet, China. The eastern most point is Trashigang, near the border of India’s Arunachal Pradesh state. According to a representative for the Bhutan Canada Foundation, an ambitious walker could cover the whole trail in about a month, but most tourists will likely enjoy shorter parts of the trail on three-, four-, or seven-day trips.

Due to its “high value, low impact” tourism strategy, Bhutan averaged just a few thousand visitors in atypical year before COVID-19 occurred. As part of its aim to avoid over tourism, the country charges a mandatory(强制的)$250 per day fee, which includes land transport, accommodations, food and guide service. The cost makes it somewhat prohibitive for many people to visit. And walkers to the Trans Bhutan Trail will have to apply for a permit. They can do this beginning in April.

1. What do we know about the Trans Bhutan Trail?
A.It connects several national parks.
B.It has been left unused for decades.
C.It has been maintained by the local governments.
D.It is more popular with mountain bikers than walkers.
2. What can we infer about the trail from Sam Blyth?
A.It allows children to reflect on themselves
B.It provides a community experience for travelers
C.It teaches people to learn from their happy ancestors.
D.It builds a connection between current and past generations.
3. What can walkers to the Trans Bhutan Trail do?
A.Choose from four types of short trips.
B.Collect ancient treasures along the way.
C.Explore Haa at the trail’s easternmost point.
D.Take a month-long trip to cover the whole trail.
4. What is Bhutan’s tourism strategy?
A.Putting profits first
B.Giving fines to badly-behaved visitors
C.Developing tourism without putting nature at risk
D.Offering tourists high-quality accommodations and food.

4 . Peru is one of the most popular countries in South America, mostly thanks to its Wonder of the World, Machu Picchu. There is much more to see and do in Peru if you’re willing to get out there and explore.     1     You don’t need a lot of money to visit here. Here are a few ways to cut down your costs in Peru.

Stay at hospedajes.     2     They offer personalized service to guests. Try to stay in these as often as possible.

Take the colectivos. These are cheap buses that cost around 2-10 PEN for a ride.     4    But there is always a door person whom you can ask if the bus is going to your location. There are not always marked bus stops, so look for gathering crowds.

Go on a free walking tour.     5     Free Walking Tour Peru has tours that can guide you around both Lima and Cusco. Just remember to tip (给小费) your guide at the end!

文章大意:本文是一篇议论文。文章主要探讨虚拟旅行的发展趋势,并分析新技术对旅游行业的影响。

5 . Japan’s biggest airline is betting that the future of travel isn’t traveling at all. For the last month, a married couple has been interacting with a robot—called an Avatar—that’s controlled by their daughter hundreds of miles away. Made by ANA Holdings Inc., it looks like a vacuum cleaner with an iPad attached. But the screen displays the daughter’s face as they chat, and its wheels let her move about the house as though she’s really there.

“Virtual travel” is nothing new, of course. Storytellers, travel writers and artists have been stimulating the senses of armchair tourists for centuries. It’s only in recent decades that frequent, safe travel has become available to the non- wealthy.

Yet even as the world’s middle classes climb out of the armchair and into economy-class seat, there are signs of a post-travel society emerging. Concerns about environmental sustainability cause loss to airlines which release much carbon. And the aging of abundant societies is both restricting physical travel and creating demand for alternative ways to experience the world. For the travel industry, virtual reality offers an attractive response to these trends.

Of course, new technologies encourage far-out claims. ANA doesn’t plan to start selling Avatars until next year. Profits, too, will probably be difficult to make: By one estimate, the global market for this kind of technology will be worth only about $300 million by 2023. By contrast, ANA’s traditional travel business brought in more than $19 billion last year.

But if the business value for virtual vacations is still weak, the market for technologies that bridge physical distances between families and coworkers seems likely to only expand. ANA’s robots may not replace its airplanes any time soon, but they’ll almost certainly be a part of travel’s high-tech future.

1. Why does the author use the example of a couple interacting with a robot?
A.To show the Japanese are crazy about travel.
B.To indicate virtual travel begins to enter people’s real life.
C.To show the couple are very enthusiastic over robots.
D.To express the close relationship between the couple and their daughter.
2. Which of the following is the possible reason for virtual travel’s appearance?
A.Storytellers, travel writers and artists have been using it for centuries.
B.Frequent and safe travel has become available to the ordinary people.
C.People are worried about the air pollution caused by airlines.
D.More and more people lose interest in travel.
3. What does the underlined word “sustainability” probably mean in the third paragraph?
A.Visibility.B.Availability.
C.insignificance.D.Continuousness
4. What can be a suitable title for the text?
A.Your Next Travel May Be Virtual.
B.Easy Travel in the Future.
C.Virtual Travel Benefits.
D.Air Travel Disappearing.

6 . Peru is famously known as “Land of the Incas”. A trip to Peru has been on my wish list for quite a while. It was finally time for me to visit the country.

My first day started in Lima, the capital of Peru. I met with the G Adventures representative (代表) here about the tour. G Adventures is an organization that helps you to connect with other like-minded people in small group-based travel adventures. They played a big part in helping to make Peru an unforgettable experience for me! In Lima, my representative discussed the plan of my tour, and I also had the chance to explore Lima in my own time, with many activities, including a city tour, show, biking tour, and more.

Day two had me taking a flight from Lima to Cusco. Many people visit Cusco for shopping but for me, the main reason for spending a day or two in Cusco was to acclimatize (适应) to the altitude (海拔). As I’d decided to reach the wonder of Machu Picchu, acclimatizing became important to avoid altitude sickness. I was happy to spend a day exploring Cusco. Cusco was once the capital of the Inca Empire. Today, it’s famous for its artists, paintings, clothing and traditional instruments. There’s something for everyone in this city.

The day finally came! Day three had me enjoying a lovely guided visit to Machu Picchu at sunrise. I had free time to explore the city on my own as well as with my guide. It was a lot to take in! I had to stop for a moment and felt the energy of such an ancient city. The history here was unbelievable and I will never forget my time here for as long as I live!

1. What is the author’s attitude to G Adventures?
A.Doubtful.B.Satisfied.C.Uninterested.D.Hopeful.
2. Why did the author stay in Cusco?

3. How did the author feel when traveling around Machu Picchu?
A.Full of excitement.B.Out of luck.
C.Lost in doubt.D.Deep in regret.
4. What is the best title for the text?
A.My love of travelingB.My wonderful trip to Peru
C.Peru: “Land of the Incas”.D.Traveling: the future of Peru.

文章大意:这是一篇说明文。主要介绍了几个有可能即将从地球上消失的神奇的地方,作者建议大家在它们消失之前去探索和旅游。

10 . There are so many beautiful places in the world that wait for you to explore, but some of them won’t wait around forever.

The Dead Sea, for example, known for being one of the saltiest bodies of water in the world is in danger of disappearing. Tourists are in the rush to the lake to float(漂浮)in its waters and put its mineral-rich mud on their skin. However, the water level has been dropping more than three feet per year in recent years. In fact, if nothing is done by 2050, it will be too late.

Madagascar’s rainforests could also be gone in about 30 years. They once covered 120,000 square miles, but due to logging(伐木)and forest fires, only 20,000 square miles remain today. This is sad for many animals that call Madagascar home. About 80 percent of the species(物种) that live there can’t be found anywhere else in the world, and there are even many more yet to be discovered.

There are also many man-made places of interest with long history around the world that are at risk of disappearing. One of these is Machu Picchu. A trip to these Inca ruins is on many people’s plan lists. However, Machu Picchu has been in danger, too. If steps are not taken to protect the ancient site, it could be gone in the near future.

Another place in danger is the Great Wall of China. Around one-third of the wall, built over centuries and completed in the Ming dynasty, is already gone. Wind and rain have weathered it and plants that grow in the wall have weakened it further. Also, poor villagers have stolen its bricks in order to sell them or build homes with them.

It’s hard to believe that so many amazing places could soon be gone for good. If you have your heart set on visiting any of these places, pack your bags and get to them before time runs out!

1. What is the problem with the Dead Sea?
A.It is polluted seriously.B.It attracts too many tourists.
C.Its water is drying up.D.Its water is too salty for people.
2. What is the importance of Machu Picchu?
A.It has a great influence on people’s lives.B.It is important to some special species.
C.It is of great value in human history.D.It serves as a name card for its country.
3. What do the places mentioned have in common?
A.They are under good protection now.
B.They are important to the environment.
C.They are famous man-made places of interest in the world.
D.They are in danger of being impossible to see one day.
4. Where can you probably read the text?
A.In a travel magazine.B.In a science report.
C.In a personal diary.D.In an adventure novel.
