5 . The Victoria Tunnel is a 19th-century waggonway (马车轨道) under Newcastle, stretching from the Town Moor to the River Tyne. It was originally built to transport coal from Leazes Main Colliery to the river. The tunnel became an air-raid shelter to protect thousands of Newcastle citizens during World War II.
