1 . A couple of weeks ago, when some friends and I took a trip to Amsterdam, the capital of the Netherlands, I immediately ______ it. We also made sure to go to the Van Gogh Museum, which is one of the city’s most famous tourist attractions, and consists of a ______ collection of his work, along with details of his ______ and the work of other artists that knew him. One of my favourite parts of the trip, though it was rather ______, was our visit to the Anne Frank Museum. She was a Jewish girl who hid with her family for 2 years before the Nazis ______ them and sent them to the death camps. It was a very ______ experience, and certainly worth seeing.

Overall, I think Amsterdam is one of my favourite cities that I have ever been to, and I would love to ______ someday!

2 . Starting as a journey to find the true meaning of happiness, The Smile Project began in the late fall of 2011 as Liz drove home from school.

“I had my windows down and my radio up. I couldn't tell you the name of a single song, but I_________I was happy,” Liz recalled.

4 . Ciudad Perdida, Colombia’s “Lost City” is older than Machu Picchu. There are no trains or buses allowing of _________ travels to reach its ruins. The remote place is only _________ on foot: a tiring multi-day hike.

Despite this, I couldn’t _________ the opportunity to visit Ciudad Perdida. 12 other hikers and I went there in _________ with a licensed guide. The dirt path, which _________ through towering palms and dangling vines (藤蔓), proved _________ right from the start. Along the way we also met the _________. They have been left undisturbed for centuries and there’s a deep _________ between them and the land.

The next morning, we were off early to _________ the heat, but high temperatures and muscle pain had already __________ by the time we reached the final stage-1,200 stone steps to __________. After finally lifting my painful body up the long flight of stairs, my eyes rested on the scene that had __________ the backbreaking journey: Ciudad Perdida.

I looked down and wondered at the beautiful site below. 5 . I was 17 years old. Along with a dozen other boys I had made a long trip to Iowa in order to see a college that I was thinking of _______. 7 . Out of the many places we considered, we settled upon the Tad Xai waterfall (泰德赛瀑布). It _________ within the National Protected Area. We _________ this place because we heard that guides are _________ there.

Although some sections of the road were quite _________, it didn’t spoil our enthusiasm. Then we saw a _________ which pointed the way to the waterfall. Our guide recommended a path which was full of surprise. So we got out of the car and went in another _________ along that small path. It passed through woods and would _________ us to the waterfall. Our _________ were so enjoyable that we walked slowly. We took loads of _________ while walking through small trees, listening to the sounds of insects and __________ the strange plant life around us. Those tall thick trees were a wonderful sight and created a calming __________. 8 . Summer vacation is the most awaited time in a student’s life. It is time to relax and _______ the world around us.

I visited Bulgaria this summer holidays, where I _______ with my good friend. At the beginning of the first day we were having a great time, you know, much _______, no work.
