1 . In order to better record the exciting moments of the Beijing Winter Olympics, China had developed a series of high-speed cameras. Among them, Lie Bao is the most well-known.
Lie Bao is developed by China Media Group, especially for broadcasting (播送) speed skating events at Beijing 2022.
Experts said that during the speed skating race, the athletes (运动员) could reach a speed of 15 to 18 meters per second (秒). The camera should be as fast as the athletes. Lie Bao can reach a speed of 25 meters per second, or 90 kilometers per hour. So it could closely catch the athletes. Although we couldn’t go to the National Speed Skating Oval to watch the games, we were able to follow every move of the skaters, including the look on their face.
After the Olympics, the high-speed Lie Bao camera is going to be used in sports training. It can help coaches better record the athletes’ moves.
