My idol is Zhong Nanshan. He is a Chinese medical expert. During the SARS in 2003, Zhong Nanshan helped the country control the disease and around 18 years later, he fought against the COVID-19. Zhong and his team helped our country control the COVID-19 rapidly. The 85-year-old elderly man got the Medal of the Republic in August, 2020, the country’s highest honor, because of his great contributions to the nation’s development.

My idol is Sidney Keys. He has a deep love of reading, but he had a difficult time finding many books with characters he could relate to as an African-American. To share his passion for reading with his partners, Sidney created Books n Bros, a club for boys between the ages of 8 and 12 that focuses on African-American literature and culture. He is making a positive influence in his community and all the boys are having such a good time in his book club.

3 . During the 1980s, artist Wilder created a song in about 30 minutes. That song, Break My Stride, has been played in films and TV shows over the years and turned him into a one-hit wonder.
Now, nearly forty years later, the song is being listened to by people who weren’t even born when it was created, thanks to its popularity on the social media(社交媒体)TikTok.
On TikTok, users usually share very short, usually 15-second, videos of themselves dancing, singing or doing something funny, most often set to music. Break My Stride became popular on TikTok earlier this year and has been used in over 800,000 videos. School students have posted videos of themselves dancing to the song. The pop song has the magic to make people feel like dancing. In one TikTok video that was liked 3.5 million times, the creator took a video of his mom sleeping and then photoshopped her into different backgrounds related to the words of the song, such as traveling across the sea to China in the row boat.
“Now with the coming of TikTok, it’s like having a hit record all over again with a whole new generation(一代人),” Wilder, 67, told CNN. Break My Stride recently has been on Apple Music’s Top 100 songs in over 20 countries.
Break My Stride isn’t alone. A number of other artists have seen their songs become popular on TikTok. The success of Lil Nas X’s Old Town Road depends heavily on its popularity on TikTok, where the song has been used in 7.5 million videos. The song finished 2019 in the UK as “Song of the Year”.

7 . Five years is a rather short time in the long history of China. But for digital (数字的) development, a lot of changes have taken place in many aspects of our life.
Nowadays, it’s normal for people to communicate on WeChat, the most popular mobile social media platform in China. People take less cash (现金) with them because most of the stores and hotels accept WeChat Pay and Alipay.
In China, holding a mobile phone means having the world in your hands. You can shop, travel, communicate, have fun by using a mobile phone, and all of these tasks can be completed with a few finger taps. Without mobile phones, life would seem dull.
By the end of 2016, there were 695 million mobile phone users in China, an increase of 12 percent on year—on—year basis. The average mobile Internet data traffic reached 172 megabytes per month, which was far more than the global average.
At the two sessions (两会), Premier Li Keqiang pointed out that in 2017 the speed of mobile network would be increased and the cost would be reduced greatly. Mobile rates for domestic roaming (国内漫游) and long distance calls would be cancelled (取消).
Meanwhile, the TD-LTE 4G communication technology developed mainly in China has been accepted and widely used across the world.

8 . I received a private message on Facebook. It began harmlessly enough: Hey, girl. Wanted to invite you to join in my next project—30 minutes of exercise and healthy eating. Promise to help you “LOSE WEIGHT!”
It was all becoming too much. Facebook was running my life, not me.
But what killed Facebook for me was when I posted a photo, and five minutes later my son asked me how many “likes” it got. His question was a wake-up call.
“Likes” are signs of acceptance and approval. I had forgotten that acceptance and approval need to come from within and had unknowingly set him a bad example.
I tried to remember what life was like before Facebook. Surfing the internet was an occasional (偶尔的) activity, and I spent a lot more time reading books and magazines. I checked in with friends through texts, emails and phone calls.
To recreate the simplicity (简单) of those days and set a healthier example for my son, I closed my Facebook account.
I’d been in the habit of checking Facebook many times a day, so I had to come up with some new habits. I carried a novel and a crossword puzzle book around with me. I rediscovered playing the piano. I started taking yoga classes.
I stopped looking at the world through my cellphone. I felt completely present at the moment. The break left me feeling better about myself, my family, my home and my life.
After a few weeks, I returned to Facebook. Now I look at the photos of my friends’ kids growing up and treasure how Facebook allows me to keep in touch with family far and wide. I have a look at it every day, but no longer with the need to post ideas and photos from time to time.
It is not an addiction (瘾) any more.

Increasing patients’ satisfaction and improving treatments with limited resources (有限的资源) are big challenges for most hospitals on the front line of the fight against the virus. Cai found that doctors had to repeat the same answers for different patients.
“Mr. Li asked why his two tests have different results. Put it in a simple way: we found no virus in you with test A, but test B found the virus.
