A Man of Achievement

Yu Longping, known as the “father of hybrid rice”(杂交水稻之夫), is a man of achievement.

    1    (毕业后，袁隆平开始致力于) the research of hybrid rice. Through his effort, Yuan overcame technical difficulties and succeeded in developing the first hybrid rice, thus     2    (因此使农民极大地提高了产量output). For his great contributions to the world, he was awarded the Medal of Republic,     3    (最高国家荣誉).

Yuan Longping passed away in May 2021. He     4    (被认为是人民的英雄和榜样), inspiring more people     5    (为我们国家做出巨大贡献).
