With summer right around the corner, it's time to think about keeping children healthy while school is out.

Westerly Library & Wilcox Park provides free meals to children. Meals will be served at the Westerly Library from 11 am - 1 pm ( Please note: We are closed on July 4 and Aug 12； and will serve lunch from 1 pm - 3 pm on July 18)

There are no income requirements or registration (注册).

Any child under age 18 may come to eat.

Wonderful Game Night

Come to have some screen-free fun with the family! Each week there will be different board games provided, for families to come and enjoy. Games are designed for kids aged 7 and up, but all are welcome.

Homeschoolers Book Group

This month's book group will be reading one main book, and then participants are asked to choose three books from a list we will be providing (following the same theme as the main book).

Participants will come to the monthly book club and be ready to discuss the main book, and the three books they choose from the list.

Anime Club

Join us for teen anime (日本动画片)club. Come to discuss your favorite manga (日本漫画) and anime with your fellow teens. This month we will try something different. We will watch a new anime's first episode together and then discuss it.

Everyone who shows up can vote on the anime we watch. We'll also have some snacks while watching. See you there!

Horses are really useful animals; therefore there is one thing that you should need to know about these animals. It sleeps while it's standing. Yes, this is very true and proven; in fact there are several persons who are wondering why these animals are sleeping while they are standing.

Well, you must be wondering as well. One main reason is that horses are in danger for their killers once they lie down. The reason is for the animal to be able to immediately run once attacked by their killers. In a point of fact, there are also other animals that can sleep while they are on a standing position.

Another main reason why horses sleep standing up is their very big body. Once they lie down for hours, particularly the large horses, their weight can crush （压）their lungs. This is also the reason why surgeries（外科手术）in horses is too unsafe even though there can be a lot of reasons and problems.

Horses' legs can lock in a certain place that enables them to fall asleep while they are standing. Besides that, horses can feel that comfortable lying down while they sleep. Most of the sleeping hours of a horse is during daytime, once the night falls, horses are usually awake because they are extra careful for fear that killers can attack them anytime.

Horses have straight back, so they cannot quickly get up. This is also one of the reasons why they are not that comfortable lying down, not even when they are sleeping. If by chance you see a horse lying down, it is sick.

Everyone needs a healthy diet plan. This is especially important when we are first making the change to a new food lifestyle. 1 say lifestyle, because diets just don't work. You will always find yourself struggling as long as you think of your eating habits based on a diet rather than a lifestyle.

What you eat will be determined from what you believe about health and nutrition. If you believe there is no connection between health and the food you eat, you will eat whatever "tastes right" to you, no matter what it is doing to your health. However, if you believe that the human body is an unbelievable self-healing （自愈的）machine that only requires the right fuel （nutrition） to maintain health, then you will choose your foods thus.

A healthy diet plan must be based on what is best for your body. If you are concerned about your taste buds（味蕾）,don't worry they will catch up. They have likely been programmed to think they want fats and salts. It may be hard for you to imagine doing without all those processed foods you've been eating. But it won't be long after you start following a healthy diet plan that your taste buds will long for what is really good for you.

It will take some time for your body to acclimate to your new diet plan, just as developing any new positive habit does. But trust me, your body knows what it needs. Once you start feeding it the nutrition it requires, your body, including your taste, will respond positively.

The healthy diet plan we advise is one that includes as much whole, raw food as possible. Our personal meal planning includes a lot of raw food, whole foods and little to no animal products. Our meal plans include as many dark green and other brightly colored vegetables as possible.

The final tip I have for you as you make the change to a healthy diet meal plan is knowledge, knowledge, knowledge. Having the right knowledge will be one of your keys to success.

Afraid to try new things? You might want to think about destroying your fear and getting over it, if you learn about a study of rats.

Rats that prefer to surround themselves with familiar things are likely to die at an earlier age than more adventurous rats do, a recent study found. If the same is true for people, being open to certain kinds of new experiences might help you live longer.

As babies, some rats climb all over new objects, and they are likely to be just as adventurous and curious as adults. Other rats are more timid throughout their lives. In neutral situations, both curious and careful rats have the same amount of a chemical called corticosterone in their blood. Levels of corticosterone, a hormone, rise when an animal is under lots of stress.

In one study, two psychologists from the University of Chicago looked at 14 pairs of rat brothers who were 15 months old. One brother was brave, the other timid. When limited in a tube, the timid rats had much higher levels of corticosterone than their brothers had, the researchers found. The response lasted for more than 2 hours. Besides that, timid rats in the study lived only about 600 days. Adventurous rats survived around 700 days.

Adventurous people, might produce fewer stress hormones, too, which could help them live longer. But researchers aren't ready to advise that you let go of all your fears. Dangerous behavior can end lives before stress hormones even have a chance to make a difference.

How To Attract People

Attracting people will earn you new friends and relationships. It's not hard to attract people.

Don't forget to smile. A smile is the best accessory you can wear if you want to attract people. It sends out a message that you are happy and very approachable. Your smile should be relaxing and coming from inside.     17    

Be confident.     18     It also boosts your self-esteem. When you are confident, you are not shy to converse or talk to other people. This means you will be able to relate and bond with them more. Confidence also makes you more likeable to other people.

    19    Try helping out people in small ways. Open a door for an officemate who is carrying an armful of things. Say thank you to the waiter when he gets your order. If you see a friend feeling down, try to cheer her/him with compliments. Small things like that make a big impact on the impression people have of you.

If you want to attract people, the first person you should think of is yourself. To attract people naturally, you should work on yourself first.     20     Be confident and attract people with your winning personality!

Vai Stone, a Devon, UK-based pensioner•(退休人)has made the     41    ( world) largestn crocheted (用钩针编织的)blanket and plans to sell it     42     (raise) money for a cancer fund.

Stone, a leukaemia(白血病)patient, has spent 11 years making the blanket, which is     43    (large) than a tennis court. The blanket     44    ( measure) about 24 metres by 8 metres when opened out and weighs about 90 kilograms.

Though she will be sorry to see the blanket go, Stone says she is happy that it will help the new leukaemia unit in getting     46    it needs.

“I decided I wanted to help people suffering from leukaemia because I still get treatment for the illness     47    ( me) . I'm hoping to get a lot of money from the sale of the blanket," she was quoted as saying in a report.
