Millions of people all over the world spend their holidays travelling. They travel to visit other countries, modern cities and ancient towns. They travel to enjoy these special places, or just to relax. It is always interesting to discover new things and different ways of life, such as by meeting different people, trying different food, and listening to different music.
People who live in the country like to go to big cities. They like to spend their time visiting museums and art galleries, looking at shop windows and dining at restaurants. People who live in the city usually like a quiet holiday by the sea or in the mountains, with nothing to do but walk and bathe in the sun.
Most travellers take a camera with them and take pictures of everything that interests them. Then, perhaps years later, they can look at the photos and be reminded of the happy time they once had.
People often travel by train, by boat or by car. All means of travelling have their advantages and disadvantages and people choose one according to their plans and the places they are going.
If we travel a lot, we will see and discover a lot of things that we could never see or experience at home, though we may read about them in books and newspapers. The best way to study geography is to travel, and the best way to get to know and understand people is to meet them in their own homes.

In most parts of the world, many students help their school make less pollution. They join in “environment(环境) clubs”. In an environment club, people work together to make our environment clean.
Here are the things students often do.
Turn off the water! Do you know that some toilets can waste twenty to forty tons of water an hour? In a year, that would fill a small river! In environment clubs, students mend those broken toilets.
No-car day. On a no-car day, nobody comes to school in a car—not the students and not the teachers! Cars give pollution to our air, so remember:
Walk, jump, bike or run.
Use your legs! It’s lots of fun!
No-garbage(垃圾) lunches. How much do you throw away after lunch? Environment clubs ask students to bring their lunches in bags that can be used again. Every week they will choose the classes that make the least garbage and report them to the whole school!
We love our environment. Let’s work together to make it clean!

I know what you’re thinking: pizza? For breakfast? But the truth is that you can have last night’s leftovers in the morning if you want to.
I know lots of women who don’t have breakfast, and they have many different excuses for doing it. Some say they don’t have time, others think they’re “saving” calories(卡路里), still others just don’t like breakfast food.
But eating in the morning is very important when you’re trying to lose weight. Eating just about anything from 300 to 400 calories would be better than nothing at all.
Breakfast is one meal I never miss, and the same goes for most weight loss success stories. Research shows that eating breakfast keeps you from overeating later in the day. Researchers found that those who don’t have breakfast have a bigger chance of gaining weight than those who regularly have a morning meal.
So eat something in the morning, anything. I know plenty of friends who end up having no breakfast altogether, and have just coffee or orange juice. I say, try heating up last night’s leftovers-it may sound crazy, but if it works for you, do it! I find if I tell myself, “You can always eat it tomorrow,”I put away the leftovers instead of eating more that night. Try it…you may save yourself some pre-bedtime calories. And watch your body gain the fat-burning effects.
31. The word “leftovers” in Paragraph 1 probably means __________.
A.pizza topped with fruitB.things left undone
C.food remaining after a mealD.meals made of vegetables
32. According to the last paragraph, it is important to__________.
A.be careful about what you eatB.eat something for breakfast
C.heat up food before eating itD.eat calorie-controlled food
33. What can we infer from the text?
A.Many people have wrong ideas about breakfast.
B.Working women usually have breakfast in a hurry.
C.There are some easy ways of cooking a meal.
D.Eating vegetables helps save energy.
34. The text is written mainly for those__________.
A.who go to work earlyB.who go to bed late
C.who eat before sleepD.who want to lose weight
35. What does the author advise the readers to do?
A.Better eat up all the food at dinner in the night.
B.Better eat less in the night.
C.Better eat leftovers in the morning.
D.Better get up late and eat nothing in the morning in order to burn more calories.

The Internet has opened up a whole new online world for us to meet, chat and go where we’ve never been before.

But just as in face to face communication, there are some rules of behavior that should be followed when online. The basic rule is simple: treat others in the same way you would want to be treated.     36    . For anything you’re about to send: ask yourself, “Would I say this to the person’s face?” If the answer is no, rewrite and reread.     37    .

If someone in the chat room is rude to you, your instinct (本能) is to fire back in the same manner. But try not to do so.     38    . If it was caused by a disagreement with another member, try to fix the situation by politely discussing it. Remember to respect the beliefs and opinions of others in the chat room.

39    . Offer advice when asked by newcomers, as they may not be sure what to do or how to communicate. When someone makes a mistake, whether it’s a stupid question or an unnecessarily long answer, be kind about it. If it’s a small mistake, you may not need to say anything. Even if you feel strongly about it, think twice before saying anything. Having good mariners yourself doesn’t give you license to correct everyone else. If you do decide to tell someone about a mistake, point it out politely. At the same time, if you find you are wrong, be sure to correct yourself and apologize to those that you have offended.

It is not polite to ask others personal questions such as their age, sex and marital status.     40    , don’t ask such questions.

A.It’s natural that there some people who speak rudely or make mistakes online
B.Repeat the process till you feel sure that you’d feel comfortable saying the words to the person’s face
C.Everyone was new to the network once
D.Imagine how you’d feel if you were in the other person’s shoes
E.When you send short messages to a person online, you must say something beautiful to hear
F.You should either ignore the person, or use your chat software to block their messages
G.Unless you know the person very well, and you are both comfortable with sharing personal information
