Like flavors of ice cream, people have different tastes and preferences for music. You need to map out your playlist based on the theme of your essay. Here are a few film scores for different themes, you can decide which is the best music for writing:
Nutmeg by Alexandre Desplat
Fear Will Find You by Hans Zimmer
The Station Inspector by Howard Shore
If you are a student writing a reflection paper about a movie your teacher asked you to watch, listening to its film score would get your creative juices flowing. Besides, you can even add what you feel about the music and its impact on the movie. So less work for you and more additional points on your paper.
Some would be happy to listen to anything while others are more specific. For example, there are people who would happily listen to any music while some are more particular and prefer classical music to jazz. If you are one of them, here are a few classical pieces you can listen to while writing:
Tambourin chinois, Op. 3 by Fritz Kreisler
The Gadfly Suite, Op. 97a: VIII. Romance by Dmitri Shostakovich
The Lark Ascending by Ralph Vaughan Williams
The number one problem that writers complain about is writer’s block. Even if you are not a professional and just writing a 2000-word research paper, you can still experience writer’s block and not know how to get started. With that, here are a few songs to get you all pumped up to write:
Iron Maiden’s by The Trooper
Run Boy Run by Woodkid
Knights of Cydonia by Muse
If popular songs are not your thing, then you can just listen to famous scores from movies.

In a studio on the top floor of a three-story Tibetan-style house in Lhasa, Phuntsok Tobgye and others are busy working on a thangka painting, which shows Tibet’s breathtaking beauty and famous attractions like the Potala Palace.
Phuntsok Tobgye is one of the inheritors (继承人) of Tsedong thangka. It is a branch of the Miantang painting, the most influential school of Tibetan thangka painting. Through the efforts of thangka painters, the skills have been passed to younger generations, with their works reaching a wider range of art lovers.
When he was a child, Phuntsok Tobgye developed an interest in the thangka paintings. He started sketching the landscape of his hometown. After primary school, he began to learn thangka painting. When he was 18 years old, he traveled to Lhasa, learning from thangka masters to help repair the murals (壁画) in the Potala Palace. It was there that he learned different styles of the art form.
In the following years, he continued to learn the art form in Lhasa. During this period, his works were displayed at various exhibitions, including one in Beijing and one in Vancouver, Canada. His solo exhibition held in Lhasa in June 2015 attracted nearly 1,000 visitors on its opening day and his works gained popularity among art collectors.
Sonam Wangden, Phuntsok Tobgye’s son, is learning thangka painting from his father. He says he can recall his father being busy with the canvas (帆布). Not long ago, Sonam Wangden and his father went to Lhasa to undertake restoration work of temple murals. After finishing their work, they sat by the wall chatting about their restoration work. "While protected areas are generally designed to be safe havens, unchecked human pressures car have a negative impact," says zoologist Femke Broekhuis, lead author of a new study by the University of Oxford that has raised questions about levels of tourism in protected areas.
The study focused on female cheetahs(非洲猎豹)in the Maasai Mara National Reserve, Kenya. Cheetahs have babies of one to six, few of which make it to adulthood. The study claims that the already low cubs(幼崽)survival rate is made even worse by tourist pressure. It found that one or no cub survived to adulthood in areas with high levels of tourism, while an average of two survived in areas with low levels.
The higher death rate is likely to be caused by poor food supplies for the cubs. "Cheetahs, especially those with cubs, are a major tourist attraction and commonly attract large numbers of vehicles," says Broekhuis. "High tourist numbers have been found to negatively impact cheetah hunts and even if a hunt is successful, the presence of tourists can result in a cheetah abandoning its kill."
While Broekhuis is eager to stress the positive role of conservation, she also admits the results are worrying. Cheetah numbers are already being squeezed. Predation(掠夺)from lions as well as habitat reduction means the big cats have experienced sharp population decline. In fact, their numbers are thought to have halved in Kenya in the past 40 years to around 7,000. They have also disappeared from 91 percent of their historic range.
Researchers suggest stricter limits on the number of cars allowed near the animals. Growth rates for cheetahs inside the protected areas need to be high if they are to make up for declines outside of them.

In this day and age we live in, our life is taken over by technology. We can’t imagine our life without it, and listening to stories that my mom tells about how she grew up without the Internet or cell phones sounds like a nightmare to me.
Though technology is wonderful and we are used to it and have no desire to be without it, it can be a good idea to sometimes just unplug (拔掉) from it all. Have you ever woken up in the morning just to see you have actually replied to a message to which the reply either doesn’t make sense or you can’t even remember that you did reply? This can be one of the signs that you are allowing technology to take over your life.
It can be very difficult to pull yourself away from the technology and you will feel you are going to be separated from the things or people around and miss a lot, but is it really so bad to at least get away from it at night and make sure you get a good night’s rest? You may feel you don’t need a lot of sleep, but at the end of the day you are making it difficult to concentrate the next day.
So let’s pack away the technology for a few hours at night—you only have to make a few small changes. Turn off your cell phone and switch off your computer at night when you go to bed. If you feel you will use your phone during the night, charge your phone in another room.
Make enough sleep a priority and feel and look good the next day. You may think it is a really silly idea to be without a cell phone or a computer during the night, but once you do it a few times and you get enough sleep and feel refreshed the following day, you will understand why it is a good idea and will try and unplug more times.
