Last Saturday, the Environmental Protection Club of our school hold a clean-up project in the People’s Park so as to raise the environmental aware of the public. A number of volunteer gathered at the school gate, but went to the park by bike. Some of them picked up the litter, and some were put the rubbish into the dustbins. Many visitors came to our help, showing considerable appreciation and support. That they did made the park much clean and more attractive. The project was great success and the club decided to organized such activities regularly.

Dear Karen,
I'm delighted to inform you of meaningful activity in the local nursing home. It was held on March 5th, that is called "Learn from Lei Feng Day". A variety of significant activities are arranged. When we got to there, we visited the elderly in their rooms. We presented them with flowers to show our sincere love or respect, after which they did some cleaning for them. Besides, some performance such as singing and dancing were given, make them very happy.
This was through the activity that we full realized the importance of respecting the old. I hope we'll have more activities like this.

Last summer, I had a valuable experience working as a volunteer in the community hospital. I worked from July 15 to July 31, when elderly over 55 were given freely medical examinations. Every day I arrive early and organized the people who came over. Then I would help him fill in the forms. Lead them to the different departments was also one of my duty. Everyone there worked in a tight schedule. By the time their examinations were over, I was already bathing in sweat. Tired though I was, but I benefited a lot from the experience as I built up my confident and improved my communication skills.
