Han Meilin Art Museum, Yinchuan

When famous Chinese artist Han Meilin first visited Helan Mountain in Northwest China's Ningxia in the 1980s, he was struck by the rock paintings.He later paid more visits and has used many of the mysterious patterns from there in his artworks.

In 2010, Han donated over 1,000 pieces of his works to the government of Yinchuan, helping the Han Meilin Art Museum to be built.

【推荐2】The Honors Program in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology (HPBMB) is offered to mature high school seniors with strong academic ability and achievement who seek careers in biological or biomedical science. Students can earn both a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) and a Doctor of Philosophy Degree (Ph.D.) in approximately 6 years.

Applicants to the Honors Program in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology must be in their last year of high school.

Undergraduates will have the opportunity to work with top-level research scientists in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology and also in clinical laboratories with scientists that are associated with the department. They will conduct intensive laboratory work in the areas of biochemistry, molecular biology or nutritional biochemistry starting in the summer before their first fall semester starts. By spring of their junior year；students will prepare an undergraduate thesis as preparation for their entry into graduate school. At that time, they will start taking graduate courses and continue to do research with a graduate faculty member.

To be considered students must:

• have a combined SAT I score of 1400(combined Math and Critical Reading scores)

• meet the SAT II score requirement of at least 600 in Math, and one science (Biology, Chemistry or Physics)

• have completed eight semesters of English and mathematics and two semesters each of Biology and Chemistry by the time they graduate from high school

• complete all components of your Common Application for undergraduate admission by November 1 of your senior year

• complete a supplemental application form for the Honors Program in Bio chemistry & Molecular Biology

• include a counselor recommendation, three letters of recommendation from teachers in support, of your application to the Honors Program and a personal statement

“Wu Se,” a solo exhibition (个人作品展) by Lin Yusi, will be held at the Fei Gallery beginning October 16. A graduate of the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, Lin is now a member of the China Artists Association.

Ou wu’s Solo Exhibition at Yuge Art Salon

Ou Wu, a practitioner of clay art and the deputy (副的) president of the Guangrdong Carving Art Research Center, is presenting a solo exhibition at Yuge Art Center in Fangcun. Visitors will discover nearly 100 pieces of his recent works in bright colors and in vivid sketches.

Exhibition for “Eight Scenes of Guangzhou in History”

A lengthy scroll (画卷) of Chinese painting called’ Eight Scenes of Guangzhou in History’ is on a traveling exhibition. The works were on display in Guangzhou this February and March. The display in Macau now is free of charge in Kam Pek Community Center and will run until October 5. The long scroll has lovely sections, representing the Song, Yuan, Ming, early Qing, and late Qing dynasties, as well as the years of 1963, 1986, 2002 and 2011.

Chinese Paintings Since the Song Dynasty: Highlights of the Guangdong Museum’s Collection

Guangdong Museum holds a new exhibition displaying selected paintings since Song Dynasty. The 69 selected historical paintings are divided into four sections: Song and Yuan Dynasties, Ming Dynasty, Qing Dynasty, and modern times of China. The exhibition has reflected the development of Guangdong painting.
