The other day, a heavier rain hit our area. With strong winds blowing throughout the day, a part of his wooden fence, about 6 foot of it, came down. When I was wondering what to get it repaired, he gave me a hand. With his help, the fence was fixed quickly. It was kind act by my neighbor and I was touching by his kindness. I know many interested neighbours. One of us is Miss Tan. Most of my neighbours drive or took public transport to work. However, Miss Tan walks to her office every mornings. This is the first time that I had been away from home, so I find it hard to live here. How l wish I could turn Lucy, who once gave me much help! I had trouble with her study in Grade 9. On the Monday morning, I was on my way to school when suddenly I saw a boy knock down by a car. In a hurry, I ran over and found the boy was serious hurt with much blood on his face. Immediately, I called an ambulance and the boy is taken to the nearest hospital. For my relief, the boy was fine and would recover in a few day. I went away without giving my name. In January, the huge snowstorm hit the area where we live. The snow was thick that the highways came to a completely stop. We lived a block away from the highway. With the darkness of night approach, there were several cars with drivers and passenger stuck inside. Mom stood up but said that she would open our house to the people trapped on the highway. We finally let thirteen people to come into our home, what made them rather grateful. I am deeply impressed by my mother’s act of kind. She showed us all the selflessness of helping others.

In recent years many flowers shops have been appeared in our small town. It is common for people to buy flowers when they go to a gathering, visiting a sick friend, or attend a wedding or birthday party. I still remember clear one day last year when Tom, a disabled student, presented some flowers to his mother to express his gratitude for her. He owing his entire life to his mother’s kind and care. With her he would not have had the confidence or the courage to fight his disability. As a result the great effort he has made, he was finally admitted to a key university.
