Seema boarded on a tourist train with her 5-year-old daughter. It was her first travel through train. The train was very crowded. Seema grabbed hands of her daughter, fearing that the crowd could pull her daughter away. After some time, the train reached another station. While walking out of the train, the girl saw that vendor sitting by the train door. She said to her mother, “Mother, can we give him some money? He seems hungry.” Seema refused, saying, “Ignore him. He is not a good person. These people take away little girls in their bags.”
Seema and her daughter got off the tourist train and walked a bit. Just then they heard a voice calling them. When Seema turned back, she saw that vendor was waving his hands toward them and started to walk toward them.
Seema thought of him as a stalker(跟踪者) and started running with her daughter, ignoring shouts from behind. She was near the exit and saw that vendor was still following them. Seema walked faster and stopped a taxi. She hurriedly pushed her daughter inside the taxi and then got seated just before the vendor could reach them. She closed the door of the taxi and asked the driver to go.

One day, Polly was walking along the beach, like she did every evening near her seaside house, when she noticed a young boy and his little sister playing there. As she was passing by them, she heard their mother calling out to them. “Corey! Daisy! Be careful! Stay away from the water!”
Polly noticed their mother resting on a bench, appearing sick and tired. The dark circles under her eyes were quite obvious, and she coughed frequently. Polly always had a desire to have a chat with someone. So she walked carefully towards the mother with a kind smile on her face.
“Hi, I’m Polly. I live by the beach.” Polly said.
The mother looked up at Polly, feeling a little surprised. The mother told Polly she was Lydia and had worked as a waitress. Lydia further said that she and her children had only recently moved to that location because her children had always wanted to see the ocean. Then Lydia stopped to cough heavily. After she calmed down, it seemed she wanted to say something, but stopped as if there was something difficult to tell. Polly did not follow up, saying goodbye and left.
When Polly went to the beach the next day, she saw the kids again, but this time their mother wasn’t with them. She observed them playing by themselves until late in the evening before heading home. The third day came and again the two kids played at the seaside until late in the evening, still without their mother s company. Then the elder brother was about to lead the sister back home. Out of curiosity and care Polly decided to follow them to their house.

There was something in the elderly woman’s grace（优雅）that caught my eye. Although slow and unsure of her steps, the woman moved with deliberation（从容），and there was no hesitation in her gestures.
It was a few years ago, and I had taken a part-time holiday-season job in a video store at the local shopping mall. From inside the store, I could see the people outside rushing by.
The elderly woman entered the store, along with her daughter, who was displaying a serious case of impatience, rolling her eyes, sighing and checking her watch every few seconds. I guessed if she had possessed a rope, she would have fastened it to her mother to drag her along to keep step with the rush of other shoppers.
The elderly woman separated from her daughter and began to seek through the DVDs on the nearest shelf. After the slightest hesitation, I walked over and asked if I could help her find something. The woman smiled up at me and showed me a title written on an old piece of paper.
Rather than rush off to locate the DVD for the woman, I asked her to walk with me so I could show her where she could find it. Looking back, I thought I wanted to enjoy her company for a moment.
Something about her deliberate movements reminded me of my own mother, who'd passed away the previous Christmas. I missed my mom and still felt regretful about the moments when I’d used my impatience to make her life unhappy.
As we walked along the back of the store, I introduced its floor plan: old television shows, action movies, cartoons, science fiction. The woman seemed glad of the unrushed company and casual conversation.
We found the DVD and she thanked me, saying that it was the one she’d enjoyed when she was her daughter’s age. Unwillingly, I accompanied her to the cash register. I realized I had to return the elderly woman to her daughter, who was still tapping her foot at the front of the store.
