When I was in the middle school, I founded a student club    1     (name) “green planet” inspired by Chai Jing’s documentary Under the Dome. At first people knew this club. As a result, we had only 15 members. And I     2     (laugh) at for being crazy. However, I didn’t lose heart and I insisted. Every day, we club y members broadcast weather reports and PM 2.5 levels. We then published articles and pictures of the serious     3     (pollute) of the city on the school website. Meanwhile, my club also shares suggestions     4     how to live a low carbon life on the school board, for example: take public transportation or car pool to school; do     5     (little) shopping and so on.

    6     time went by, more are what students showed great interest in our club. And luckily, I persuaded my headmaster to join us. After what seemed ages of waiting, the club was finally accepted by the majority of students in my school. An increasing number of students supported     7     (ours).

I was feeling sad because my mother was out of job. It left me wondering     1     was going to happen to us.

Mac was cycling along a road. With a heavy camp bag, he wasn't moving very fast. Ten years ago, people bought electric vehicles (EVs) to reduce their carbon footprint.     1     the limited range and high price made EVs something of a rare sight on roads. A lot can change in a decade. Advances in battery technology     2     (mean) electric cars now travel much further on a single charge. Government grants (补贴) serve to draw buyers away from gasoline-powered cars. The change will have a huge impact     3     life. Roads will become far     4     (quiet) and pollution levels will be reduced quickly, potentially leading to improved quality of life.

Carpooling(拼车) is when a driver offers to take passengers in exchange for some money for petrol. As     1     result，carpooling can be     2     (cheap) than public transport because everyone in the car shares the cost of petrol. I     3     (recent) did carpooling for the first time and it was very easy to find a driver. I used a website     4     lists drivers’ profiles (简介) and found someone who was going to the same place as me. A lot of information can     5     (see) in the profiles such as their first name，age and gender (性别) as well as reviews from other passengers. I decided     6     (travel) with a lady who had very good reviews.

I found carpooling to be a(n)     7     (impress) experience. Not only was the trip very cheap，but the driver and the other passengers were really friendly. They were all French so I had the chance to practise     8     (speak) some French. When I waved goodbye to them，a thought suddenly occurred to me     9     carpooling could be the future of travel. Both drivers and passengers can benefit     10     this form of travel. It saves money，and perhaps more importantly，carpooling provides a fantastic opportunity to meet interesting people on your travels.
