Dear Tom,
I’m more than happier that you’re interested in Chinese culture. Now let me tell you something about a Dragon Boat Festival.
It’s a traditional Chinese festival falling in the 5th day of the 5th month of the Chinese lunar calendar. It’s widely believed that the festival held in memory of the great poet Qu Yuan, who lived in ancient times. Disappointed with the government, he drowned him in the Miluo River.
The festival is celebrated by boat racing, with the boats building in the shape of dragons. Competing teams row their boats forward to the drumbeat, race to reach the finishing end first. We also have the custom of eating zongzi, wrapped with bamboo leaf. It’s very popularly among Chinese people.
If you will want to know about other Chinese traditional festivals, just write to me.
Yours,
Li Hua

China and Western country may have different cultural beliefs about certain animals. But when it comes to mice, we somehow reach an agreement that mice are timid, ugly, shortsightedly, tricky and thievish﹣looking.
Neither of these words describing mice are exactly positive. Moreover, the truth is what mice have some good qualities. And there's probably no good time to clear their names than now, with the arrival of the Year of the Mouse on Chinese Spring Festival, which fell January 25 this year. According to a paper publishing in 2017, mice have meticulous thoughts or are part of ecosystem. Perhaps these are the qualities of mice to keep it in mind﹣their intelligence, acuity and sense of responsibility.

July 29, 2021 marks the 131st anniversary of Vincent Van Gogh’s die. As a big fan of Van Gogh, I fulfill my lifelong dream this summer by taking a trip to Europe. I first traveled to the Netherlands, where Van Gogh born and lived for most of his life. In Amsterdam I went to the Van Gogh Museum but viewed hundreds of his works, including much of his greatest paintings. Before visiting Amsterdam, I drove to Saint-Rémy. There Van Gogh, depressing and lonely as he was, he made one masterpiece after another. My last destination was Auvers-sur-Oise, where continues to keep the subjects of Van Gogh’s paintings looking just as they did when he painted them. At that moment I had never felt close to Van Gogh.

Thank you for your letter. I'm delighting that you will come to China to learn Chinese paper-cutting, it is one of Chinese traditional folk arts. Paper-cutting, with the history of more than 1, 500 years , is so much amazing that it never fails to attract foreigners. Craftsmen can cut different shapes by only use scissors or knives, making attractive but difficult for people to master the skills. I have started to learn it when I was seven, so you can turn to me with help. I'm surely you'll have a good time. See you sooner.

Everybody thinks of I have a real gift for painting. Therefore, I once did not like art lessons because I could not draw very good.
One day, I was playing with some paint as usually in Ms Luo’s art lesson. I mix the paint with water. As I took the brush away, I dropped some paint onto the paper. That immediately occurred to me was to blow it. The paint began to run, so I blew harder. The paint ran in all direction and made a very interested picture! “That’s very good picture, Sandy,” Ms Luo encouraged me to keep trying. Since then, he have been crazy about painting.
