Finders Keepers
It was the middle of the day on a bright sunny Saturday, Jay and his friends Mike and Tony were riding their dirt bikes on one of their favorite off-road trails （小路）. They usually didn’t ride early in the day or in the evening because hikers and runners liked the trail too, but the hikers and runners generally used the trail in the mornings and evenings.
On this particular day, when Jay and the boys were sitting on a tree branch to take a break, Jay spotted something shiny on the ground. “What do you think that could be?” he asked Mike and Tony as he pointed out the object reflecting the sun.
They all hopped down from the branch and went to take a closer look. What they found was incomprehensible to them. It was a gold money clip holding five hundred dollars.
Mike immediately exclaimed, “Awesome! We can split up the money, and we will each be much closer to being able to buy the new bikes we want. ” “Not so fast,” said Tony. “Jay was the one who spotted the cash. To be fair, he should get more than us. He should get three hundred dollars, and we should each get one hundred dollars. ”
“What are you guys, crazy?” asked Jay. “We can't keep the money. It isn't ours. Aren't we more mature than to play finders keepers like we did when we were kids?”
“Stop being such an advocate for honesty,” groaned Mike and Tony.
“Whoever lost the money wasn't very responsible and should learn a lesson about walking around with that much cash on them anyhow,” added Mike.
“Let's all go home and think about this,” said Jay. Mike and Tony agreed to Jay's suggestion. Jay kept the money, and they all rode their bikes home. They decided to meet up later at the head of the off-road trail.

“What’s going on?”he asked again. The woman kept silent for a while before she told Alex, but mostly talked to herself that she was going through a particularly tough period. She was jobless, not doing well in everything. In short, life wasn’t working out as she’d hoped. “Not everything goes as planned,” agreed Alex. He started talking about the ups and downs he’d faced in his life.

Julia often saw a lady in the building. Usually the lady went to the gym first and then headed to the spa. Later, she’d come out dressed like a manager. One day, the woman took her kid with her. The little boy was no more than eight years old and didn’t look happy to be there with his mom.
“Jimmy, come on. I have to go to the gym now and hurry to get to work on time later,” the mother said in a rush.
The boy protested with a sad voice, “What am I going to do while you’re working out?” “Just sit still and read your book in the waiting area,” the mother replied.
“Can you at least buy me some candy? You promised earlier,” the boy complained. “I don’t have time right now. Please hurry inside,” the mother answered.
Then the mother took the son’s hand and rushed into the gym. Julia witnessed this all and was reminded of her own similar busy life in the past. She was once also a young busy woman. Her personal and work-related matters always came first in her life. She failed to spare enough time for her son and attach enough importance to his wishes. When she realized her problems, it was too late. Her son lost his life in an accident, leaving her with deep sadness and regret. To make matters worse, her company went bankrupt (破产) soon after.
Reflecting on her past life, Julia had a thought. Though she was not wealthy, she wanted to do something nice for the boy: buy him a bar of chocolate.
