One worry that most parents experience as their child     1     (grow) up is whether he or she experiences bullying. What should you do if your teenager is being bullied? Parents’ views on this question vary. Some believe that the     2     (simple) solution of all is to “fight back”. Others feel that this should be avoided     3     all costs. In reality this is a complex issue with a number of     4     (dilemma).

Although your teenager may win a physical fight, there is no guarantee that he or she will not be attacked later, thus worsening the violence. It may be     5     (total) unrealistic to expect young people who have been hurt or bullied     6     (fight) back. There are other possible results too, such as disciplinary (惩戒性的) action from schools, which usually have     7     absolute ban on fighting. Fighting back in self-defence may also run the risk of     8     (accuse) of attack. For these reasons we can suggest that the young person should get away to safety and     9     they should seek support from a responsible adult. While     10     is understandable to want to get back at the bully, it will be more constructive to look at ways of stopping the bullying than to cause harm to anyone else.

The water on the Earth keeps moving around and around in a cycle     1     (call) the water cycle. However, the amount (数量) of freshwater in our world is not spread evenly (均匀地) across the planet. Having water whenever we need or want is something we take for granted. Whenever we use it, we need to think about how we can save it. There are many small     8     (step) we can take that add up to big water savings! Taking shorter showers and turning off the water while brushing your teeth     9     (be) all the ways to help. As long as each of us has the sense of     10     (save) water, we can see huge changes.
