I am in the Sarek National park in Sweden，    1     there are no roads or towns. When I wake up to the sound of the wind buffeting the cloth of     2    (I)tent，I check my watch and find it is 7：30 a.m. I am now above the Arctic Circle，where the sun never     3    (set)in summer. I walk over to the mountain edge.     4    (spread)out before me，branches of the Rapa River flow through the valley below.

There used     5    (be) vast sheets of ice covering Sarek’s mountains. Around 9，000 years ago，the ice melted， leaving behind about 100     6    (glacier). First came the reindeer and then humans，who lived in harmony     7     nature.

For hundreds of years，the Sami looked after reindeer and depended     8     reindeer for a living. The Sami was always accompanying the reindeer on the move. Today，most Sami have houses in villages near Sarek.

After breakfast，I pack my bag and set out for another adventure to the other side of the valley. Being in such a beautiful and wild place makes me feel     9    (bless)to be alive. Here I am，alone under this broad sky，breathing the fresh air and enjoying this great adventure. What could be     10    (good)?

Daocheng Yading is located in the Southwest of China’s Sichuan Province. This is a kingdom     1     (surround) by breathtaking views of snow-capped mountains, steep glaciers (冰川), clear lakes and thick woods. It is called the last pure land on this blue planet. Every September, the scenery here is     2     (extreme) attractive. It’s like placing people into a colorful fairy tale world which is beyond     3     (imagine).

There are three mountain peaks in Daocheng Yading. The most beautiful is called Yangmaiyong. It is about 6000 meters     4     height, and has the shape of a perfect pyramid. Back in 1931, the American explorer Joseph Rock first introduced it to the world with     5     (photo) for the National Geographic Magazine. He wrote, “She is the most beautiful snow peak my eyes have ever seen”. Next to it stand two other mountains: Xiannairi and Xianuoduoji. The top of the mountains is covered by snow most of the time. No one     6     (reach) the top up to now. They are called the “Three Holy Mountains”. It is     7     irreplaceably sacred place in the hearts of the local people. “    8     (walk) round the holy mountains three times, you will achieve your wishes for this life,” the locals say. However, it’s such a great challenge to both one’s physical ability and mind because of     9     (it) altitude. What drives them to do that? Perhaps it is simple faith. It is the last pure land     10     can purify the soul.
