Planning is good as it decides in details how we do what we want to do it. However, a plan bears no fruit without being actual carried out. My experience in the English speech contest last month was a case in point. A month before the event, I spent hours work out a schedule with my goals and practical steps. After that, I set out read widely for an inspired topic , wrote a speech, and practised my pronunciation with good public speech skills. I finally stood out as a first prize winner. I know why I achieved my success. It came from good planning but better practice.

Everybody needs have friends in life. But being a friend can sometime be hard work. Learn how to solve problems in friendship can make you a better friend and a happier person. An universal problem between friends is that they don’t know why to talk with each other about difficult things. When they are talking, they often get madly with each other. What can they do? It took time to learn how to communicate well, and it is important to understand why a friend gets angry to you when you say something. If you know which makes your friend angry, and you can try to talk about the problem in a different way.

Young children learn new words by imitating the speakers around of them. When 3-year-olds hear a new word that catch their interest, they may use it repeated for a day or two until they feel comfortably with it. They establish its meaning from the context, often by trial and error. They add new words to their vocabulary so they need them to make themselves understand. Young children don’t learn the meanings of new words by looking it up. Sometimes they ask adult directly, but more often they simply guess the meanings from the context. They figure out that new words mean by paying attention to how they are used. We grown-ups need to do same.

It is well known that one of the aims of UNESCO is to protect and preserve culture and natural heritage. Our heritage is the precious gift, and it is also that we live with today. I believed some of you may have visited Mount Tai and Mount Huang, or have been to Jiuzhaigou. Many people just find unbelievable that so beautiful places exist in this world.

These heritage site impress visitors with their amazed beauty, and they are a great source of inspiration. There are altogether more than over 900 World Heritage Sites. People have come to understanding the truth that they do not belong to any single person, and to all mankind.

Since 1996, 770 key cultural sites under state protection have been listed by the Chinese government and the number of them are expected to reach 2, 200 in 2022. In the 1990s, the government spent a lot of money protect cultural sites, what reached 700 million yuan for about 1,000, projects. So far, the Chinese government has been listed more than 560 national famous cultural cities under key protection. To our delighted, the protection of the ancient buildings as well the traditional cultures is included. On addition, as a large traditional agricultural country, China has many ancient village. However, the cultural experts are planning a large protection project than before.

Last week, aiming to enriched our school life, we students took part in an activity with the theme of “Getting to Know the Intangible Cultural Heritage Around Us”, organizing by the Student Union. The lecture was delivered a famous craftsman. He showed us what to make clay figures and displayed much of his art works, which were highly awarded. After the lecture, we made one under the guide of the master, from him whom we learnt much about cultural heritage. Not only did this activity gave us an opportunity to see beauty works of art, but it also increased our knowledge.
