And I think it might have something to do with the vast amount of vocabulary the German language has. So I think it’d be really difficult but a fun challenge.
Elena (Canada, teacher)
I think I’d like to learn French next because it’s a very romantic (浪漫的) language and it could be very useful in different job situations. Besides, I think it could help me understand English a bit more as well, since it was previously the language of diplomacy (外交).
Bryan (USA, writer)
I’d love to learn Italian next. I visited Milan last year and I think it would be great to be able to speak to some of the locals. Also, it’s quite similar to Spanish, so I don’t think it would be too confusing.
Georgina (England, Olympic swimmer)
I’d really like to learn French. I actually learned it some years ago, but I haven’t used it in a long time and I’ve forgotten it but it’s a language that I really enjoy speaking, and I think France is a wonderful country.

We took your votes and with the help of our panel (专家小组) of expert judges we created this list of 100 reads designed to make you laugh out loud. Want slice-of-life essays? Loopy poetry? Texts from famous literary figures? Scroll down — we’ve got it all.
As with all our reader polls, this is a curated (精心筹划的) list and not a straight-up popularity contest; unlike last year, you’ll see the books are grouped into categories rather than ranked from one to 100.
And, as always, there are a few things that didn’t make the list — surprisingly, Shakespeare didn’t get enough votes to make it to the semifinals. Then there were books that didn’t quite stand the test of time, or were so new we couldn’t tell whether they’d stand up.
Some of the authors on this list are incredibly popular, and you voted them in over and over again. Because space is limited, we try to hold each author to one spot on the list, but there are some exceptions such as Nora Ephron, who our judges thought was perfect.
And speaking of our judges, you will find a couple of their works on the list this year — we don’t let judges vote for their own works, but readers loved works such as Samantha Irby’s We Are Never Meeting In Real Life, so the panel agreed they should stay.
Laughter is the best medicine. Just click here and start reading!

I’m a Senior I student in a middle school. This term, my favorite teacher, Miss Mao, no longer teaches us. I want to see her, but I’m afraid that she no longer likes me and I don’t want to trouble her. I really miss her. What should I do?
Tian Yan
Dear Tian Yan,
It’s bad luck that you have lost your favorite teacher. But, if she is still in your school, nothing can stop you going to see her. When she isn’t busy, ask her if she minds having a quick chat. You can then tell her she was your favorite teacher—everyone is happy to know that he or she is liked!
If she has left the school, it will be more difficult to meet her. It will be hard, but remember people always come and go in their lives. We can’t rely on them to be with us all the time.
You may be sad to say goodbye to her, but we can remember and learn from her. Think of her best qualities.
You could also try looking for similar qualities in your other teachers. Study hard and give your new teacher a chance. In time, you might start to see that he or she has different qualities to learn from.
Finally, you can not completely rely on other people to get you through your studies, or even your life.
