Costa Rica is full of unique animals found nowhere else on Earth. And you could help nurse some of these injured forest animals back to health while you live and volunteer in Costa Rica for up to 10 weeks!
On this all-inclusive volunteer trip, not only do you get to live and volunteer with a trusted wildlife rehabilitation (康复) organisation in CoAsta Rica. When you go with Global, you get:
Pre-Departure Guide — Our in-depth pre-departure guide will have all the information you need about your trip & destination, at your fingertips.
Dedicated Trip Coordinator — Hand-picked from an experienced team who’ve been there, done that and ready to guide you through your entire journey.
Accommodation & Meals — Relax in your shared dorm accommodation on-site, with free Wi-Fi and a community atmosphere, and enjoy nutritious Costa Rican cuisine.
Certificate of Completion — In recognition of your hard work and dedication throughout the experience, and it goes very well with your future résumé.
Can you picture it? You spend your days doing various tasks around the sanctuary (禁猎区). Anything from repairing enclosures, feeding the animals, maintaining gardens, or taking photos of the animals.
For most people, getting to see one of these animals is a bucket-list experience. Especially if they get to interact and help with the rehabilitation of these injured forest animals. Since arriving in Iraq in 2015, Active Citizens has trained more than 180 young people, who have reached a further 4,000 people through projects focusing on health awareness, employability and so on. Through two local organizations in Iraq, the first Active Citizens program trained a host of young people from local communities. With a focus on youth voice, the training achieved high levels of participation from girls and many called it a turning point in their lives.
“On day one, when I started the training, I thought I would have nothing to give. By the last day, I discovered I have buried skills, and how I can be of great value to help others and change their lives positively,” says one girl. Through the training, the participants were introduced to different ways of creating change and learned the important role dialogue plays in communities. The training prepared them to take the first important steps towards making a positive difference in people’s lives.
Active Citizens program has so far started 16 social action projects, working with women’s groups, schools and local communities. A project by participants from the Iraq Women Association has delivered job-readiness skills training to 55 young women looking for work. After learning new IT and interview skills and receiving support to create CVs, five of the participants found jobs directly after the training. The women are also being encouraged to pass their new skills to other young women looking for jobs in their communities.
These are just two examples of the significant impact Iraq’s Active Citizens has achieved in just a short space of time. As time goes by, we can look forward to greater impact in the future.

【推荐3】Volunteers Wanted: Caring Rides
CareGivers is seeking volunteers for its Caring Rides program, serving homebound seniors (居家老人) in New Hampshire.
Volunteering is easy, and we offer flexible opportunities built around your schedule, whether you volunteer once a week, once a month or on an as-needed basis.
Volunteers need to drive seniors to medical appointments, dental visits or a drugstore. Sometimes, you need to shop for them or run errands (差事) on behalf of individuals. Taking a client on a round-trip usually takes an hour of your time, and our requirements are that you have a car, valid driver’s license and a friendly attitude.
For hundreds of seniors in New Hampshire, doing something as simple as getting to a medical appointment or picking up medication at a local drugstore is a necessity — but sadly, not an option. Most live alone, and cannot drive or access reliable transportation. They rely on our network of volunteers. But more than 200 seniors across the area are on waiting lists to receive these services, many of whom have to cancel doctor appointments and have difficulties gaining adequate access to the food they need. That’s where YOU can come in.
You Truly Make a Difference in the Life of a Local Senior
For these seniors, our network of volunteers is their lifeline. While providing a ride for a senior in need may seem like a small task, it’s significant and life-changing for those we serve:
●You can help them avoid common feelings of isolation and loneliness they have.
●You can ensure they maintain access to medical needs, food and other essentials key to their physical health, emotional well-being and overall quality of life.
●You can make them realize that they can age in a dignified manner inside their homes for as long as possible.
To sign up, simply fill out the contact form on this page and we will be in touch with you the next steps!
