I signed up for a competition on garbage sorting on the Monday and I participated in the first round, a written test. Though there was many candidates, I succeeded entering the final with another student from my class. Last Friday where the final was held, my classmate and I played with the participants from other four classes, and answers all of the questions accurately. Finally, we won out! We were extremely happy what we brought honor to our class. When interviewing by the school TV station after the award ceremony, I expressed my prides in protecting our environment. The competition not only broadened my knowledge on the garbage sorting and increased the awareness of environmentally protection.

As the Earth Day approaching, a lot of posters were put up in our school to call on us to take action for greener earth.
Seen that, my classmates and I had a short discussion and we were put forward a good idea of recycling. The next day, we bring plenty of used materials to school and tried our best to make various kinds of new things. Exhaust fumes is the main cause of haze and do greatly harm to people’s health. Maybe we can move factories to areas where few people live. It is no doubt that we produce lots of garbage every day. However, few people have the habit of sorting waste.
This will bring lots of problem. First, the value of things that can be recycled or reused, such as plastic and paper, are reduced. Besides, deal with some waste by burning it will cause serious environmentally pollution.
For those reasons, the government should taken effective measures to call for waste sorting. More publicity campaigns and public service advertisements should run to raise public aware. The government can also design the colorful garbage cans with clear waste-sorting images on it to encourage people to sort waste.

Last weekend, fifty volunteers from our school go to help promote garbage classification in Sunshine Community. Various activities held to spread the knowledge of garbage classification. After arrive at the community, we recommended the official account we created it on WeChat to local residents. Meanwhile, some volunteers put down posters and gave out brochures. Beside, we started to sort garbage in several trash can and collected recyclable waste from door to door.
