Located in the Haidian Disrict, northwest of Beijing, the Summer Palace is 15 kilometers away from the downtown area, which     1     (consist) of Longevity Hill and Kunming Lake,     2     (cover) an area of 2.9 square kilometers. Then it took the government two years     8     (repair) the Summer Palace. In 1924, it was open     9     the public. The Summer Palace was added to the World Heritage Sites by UNESCO in 1998, and became one of the first national AAAAA tourist     10     (attraction) in China.

Against a backdrop of misty green forests and     1     its buildings on stilts (桩), which are above the River Tuo, Fenghuang is a picturesque place to spend a day or two. Its winding allays, lined with traditional shops and temples, lead to narrow wooden bridges and stepping-stones that cross the river.
