The Escape Surf School is in Newquay and has been teaching people to surf for over 12 years. As well as being one of the longest running UK surf schools, we are also the only school in Newquay with a 35-year professional surfer as head coach.

We are open 12 months of the year, 7 days a week, so if you want to learn to surf or improve your surfing, then look no further.

Surf Lessons

At the Escape Surf School we are proud to specialize, not generalize. We offer lessons at all levels, from complete beginners to advanced and contest surfers. As well as offering surfing lessons, we also offer a variety of packages which include surfing and accommodation!

All lessons take place on Towan, Great Western or Fistral beach, all of which are less than 5 minutes walk from school. So we meet at the school, where we all change into wetsuits, and then proceed to the best beach.

Experience private coaching with Pro Surfer. All levels taught.

Couples or friends, experience a private surf coaching session, perfect to fast track your surfing and impress your partner! All levels taught.

The prices include board and wetsuit(and boots or gloves if required), there are no hidden charges.

【推荐3】Some people may think that students who study abroad have more time for relaxation and less homework. But as a matter of fact, Grade 12 students in Canada are just as busy and pressured as students in China. In Canada, students have to pay equal attention to all the tests and assignments, as every little evaluation will directly affect their final grades.

To ease some of the stress from the important courses, like mathematics and English, students will often choose one or two fun courses in the last year of high school. Those classes can give students a fairly excellent final grade.

Take me as an example-the classes I am attending this semester include advanced functions, graphic design and history. All of them are really important to me, which means I have to pay more attention to them.

In order to get enough elective credits to grade, I chose a relatively easy course, nutrition and health. This course is aimed at helping students develop a healthy lifestyle and diet. The biggest highlight of this course is that students can experience cooking and baking, which I believe is the reason why there 're a large number of students on the waiting list Usually, there are one or two food labs every month. Teachers always let students decide what they want to cook or bake. Students are divided into four groups with six people, and teachers are given the recipe beforehand.

After attending this class for more than three months, I believe it's not as easy as others think it is because it's an interdisciplinary(跨学科) course that requires   basic knowledge of science, humanity and even culinary.

Despite these kinds of courses not being as demanding as others, we can still learn a lot from them. Some people might think they're “mark-boosting(促进分数的)” courses that don't need to be taken seriously. But I consider them to be a unique way to ease the tension or other schoolwork.

Welcome back to school! Have you signed up for an after-school activity yet? Here are some of the activities you can try.

SPORTS TEAMS

Do you like sports? How about joining the football team? It has try-outs next Tuesday at 3:00. Many of our best players have moved up to college. So now the team needs new players. For more information, meet our sports advisors, Ms. Matte or Mr.Stergis.

GOOD AT ART?

This year, your classmates in the school art club plan to paint a mural(壁画)on the wall by the office. So they need new members to help create it! Are you interested in drawing, painting or taking photographs? This club is for you. The first meeting of the school year is next Wednesday at 3:15 in Room 221. Please see Ms. Greenway for more information.

NEW THIS YEAR

There are some new activities you can have a try. Try the new after-school science club! It has plans to enter the national Senior Robotics competition this year. So if you want to try building a robot, this club is for you. See Mr. Larson in Room 105 for more details. The club meets every Thursday at 3:30.

Do you like acting? Are you good at singing? The school play this year is a musical—The Sound of Music. Come and try out next Monday at 3:10 in Room 125.

Maurice Hilleman

Not all achievements require bravery and self - sacrifice. Take Maurice Hilleman for example. He found another way to change the world. He developed the mumps vaccine (疫苗) after his daughter got the illness. And he didn ' t stop there. In total, he has single - handedly developed over 40 vaccines, including eight commonly given to children. His work has saved millions of lives and prevented serious consequences due to the diseases.

Nils Bohlin

In 1959 Nils Bohlin patented a revolutionary design that has saved millions of lives-the three - point safety belt. After the initial resistance from drivers who hated being told what to do, and even for their own good, the three - point belt has become a standard feature in new cars around the world.
