Last year, Lu Liqing, a folk artist in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province,     1     (produce)artistic works combining sugar paintings and paper-cutting     2     the elements of the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games.

    3     (locate)in the city’s Shangcheng district, Lu’s studio presented kites with Asian Games mascots. Among the works,     4     paper-cutting from Lu called Welcome to Hangzhou brought traditional Chinese paper-cutting to a     5     (creative) and modern level than before. The square paper-cutting, with a     6     (long) of 70 centimeters, had a big lotus at the center, representing the opening and closing ceremonies and the track and field events,     7     featured the event’s mascots, logo and landmarks of the three World Cultural Heritage sites in Hangzhou.

Lu said it had taken about two months     8     (finish) the work. “Paper-cutting is not hard, but its design highlighting (突出) the spirit of the Games is difficult,” he said. Before that, he had created a paper-cutting scroll 4. 8 meters long and 60 centimeters wide describing the history of the Games.

“The creative process also allows me to     9     (full) understand the history of the Asian Games over the past decades. Then I added my understanding of the spirit of the Games into creating this paper-cutting scroll,” Lu said.

The Asian Games, initially(最初地)     10     (take)place between Sept 23 and Oct 8 in 2022, was announced to be held in Hangzhou and five other cities in Zhejiang province —Ningbo, Wenzhou, Jinhua, Shaoxing and Huzhou in 2023.

Last October, three fossilized dinosaur eggs,     1     date back to the early and mid-late Cretaceous period, were found in Wuning County Jiangxi Province. The     2       (authority) said they would put them on display.

An excavator driver found several fossils and fragments (碎片) while     3     (work) on a construction project on October 5 in Wuning County and it was     4     (immediate) reported to the local government, according to Wuning County Museum.

“We received a call which claimed they had found something similar to dinosaur egg fossils and we instantly went to     5     site,” an employee Zhang from Wuning County Museum told the Global Times on Thursday.

She went there     6       the professional team and saw the egg fossils attached to a rock. The three fossils are nearly round and can be seen clearly. Two of     7     (they) are well preserved, and one egg’s shell has peeled off, according to Zhang.

“After professional research by experts, the egg fossils     8     (confirm) as dinosaur egg fossils. They are now with the museum and     9     (far) research has been carried out,” said Zhang.

In recent years, Chinese scientists     10     (discover) from studies of dinosaur egg fossils that a sustained decline in dinosaur diversity happened in the late Cretaceous period.
