The news which the English Entrance Examination will be reformed has caused a big “earthquake” in our country. Many people, including students, is for it. But there are also some people are against it. Then, is it better to do so or not? Personal, I think the reform has both advantages and disadvantage. On the one hand, it can reduce students’ learning burden and enables English to return back to its true function. On the other hand, it will cause students to spend less time studying English and attach more importance to English. If so, students will not have a good knowledge of English. What’s more, if students don’t have so a good ability, they will not be able to broaden our horizons and meet the future challenges.

Nowadays more and more parents paid great attention to which school their children should be sent. The more famous the school is, the great desire the parents have it to send their children there. This also gives the school authorities great pressures on meeting the need of academic levels. On the one hand, the school wants very much to maintain it’s popularity of high academic achievements, when on the other hand, they have to face the reality of the differences in their pupils. In this case, some schools choose to stream our pupils into different types according to their grades. And most schools still teach students in a traditional way, mixed-ability teaching methods, what has aroused some interest in education researchers.
Nowadays, many parents chose to accompany their children in studying, that has caused a wide concern. These parents are willing to leave their hometown, but even quit their jobs to follow their children into campus. Most of them rent an apartment nearby so as to take well care of their children. Parents consider necessary to offer better living conditions to the children. However, it can allow them to keep track of the children’s academic performance.
Nevertheless, what they’ve ignored are that it will get their children into the habit of be dependent. Trust leads to independence. So it seems to me that parents should create rooms for children’s growth and study in the order to ensure their overall development.
