Music is all around us. Music plays     1     important part in daily life and a     2     (various) of kinds of music are enjoyed in the world, such as Blues, Black music, Rock & Roll and so on.

Why do so many people like music? Music can be a part of our identity — the set of qualities and     5     (belief) that make us who we are. It makes us part of our culture or community. It can also affect emotions and make us     6     (energy). Moreover, music can make us want to move. Movement stirs our hearts and our blood up,     7     is good for our health. Another of the many reasons to listen to music is     8     it helps you to think more     9     (creative). The combination of words and tone does something magical in the brain     10     (encourage) new connections. If you ever find yourself stuck on a problem, put on some tunes and see if they shake a new idea loose.

A lot of people wish to be singers or musicians and dream     1     playing at a concert. To be honest, they attach great     2     (important) to becoming rich and famous. But just how do people form a band? First, they may start as a group of high-school    3    (student) and practice their music in someone’s house or play to passers-by in the street or subway    4    (earn) some extra money or to pay for their instruments. In 2009, Whitacre received a video of a girl who was singing one of his works. Inspired, he asked his fans     1     (make) videos, which he then joined together into one performance. His first virtual choir, “Lux Aurumque”, had 185 singers     2     12 different countries. It has received millions of views on the Internet. Since then, the virtual choir     3     (become) a worldwide phenomenon.
