This afternoon we had our PE lesson. The teacher had taught us how to practise high jump. The bell rang and we went to the playground on line. After warming-up exercises, the teacher told me the way of jumping and then gave us an example. Followed the teacher one after another, my classmate did very well. Soon it was my turn and I felt a little nervously. I failed at my first attempt, but I was not a bit discouraging. I kept on thinking about the teacher’s words and practising. I managed jump over the pole in the end. From this class I have realized one can succeed whether he has perseverance, just as the old saying go, “Where there is a will, there is a way.”

As the saying goes, chances favored the prepared mind. I learned this from one of my experience.
I was not chosen as member of the volleyball team of our school. Because of this, I decided to give up play volleyball. Luckily, my best friend stopped me but pointed out that it was my laziness and poor preparation which led to my failure. After that, I practiced playing volleyball on every day. When another tryout arrived, I was full prepared and tried my best. As a result, I was selected and became an important player on our school team.
From this, I am firmly convincing that, no matter when chances arrive, we were able to seize them as long as we get well prepared.

Diligence is a must for us to reach our goals. I never realized it until I tried every efforts to win the English speech competition last year.
It was quite a big challenge for me because I was not that confident about your oral English and I was shy to speak in public. To give a better performance, I made fully use of my spare time to prepare for it. I recorded my lines and ask my foreign teacher to correct my pronunciation. Then I kept practise day and night. Besides, I seized every chance to speak in the front of my family or friends. The more I practiced, the much confident I became. In the end, I won the competition but got a prize.
It was such great that all my efforts paid off. I was so proud myself.

Last week, the student Union of our school was organised the Charity Sale of cultural products at Grand Art Hall. The Sale attracted students or teachers of all grades who were interesting in Chinese culture. Many of them arrived the hall to support the activity and the volunteers offer everyone thoughtful service. The Sale has true opened a door to the artistic beauty of culture for us. They will remember this meaningful day, where we've found wonderful items we like. More importantly, the money has been spent on picture book for the children in poor villages. There are a lot of unforgettable thing in our life. The most unforgettable one for me is the speech competition holding last year. When my English teacher told me that I had chosen to take part in the speech competition, I devoted me to the preparation. I was determined to win the first prize. I was such nervous when I stood on the stage that I forgot everything. Not until I caught a sight of my teacher did I calm down. Finally, I do a good job. When I heard I got the first prize, my heart was filled in joy and tears rolled down. Through this speech competition, I understand that it is confidence which makes people successfully.
