Dear Jack,
I’m sorry to hear that you feel lonely in the new school, because you find hard to make friends. Now, I’d like to offer you any advice.
Firstly, it’s normal for you to feel lonely because you were living in a new environment. Secondly, you should greet your classmates when met them on campus. Thirdly, it will be a good idea if you take an actively part in class activities, what can help them learn more about you. I believe you will be able to make new friends soon unless you’re friendly to the others.
I hope the suggestion above will be helpful to you and everything will be fine with you for the future.
Yours,
Li Hua

Years ago, all my parents were involved in a serious car accident. Uncle Bob takes on the role as a father to me. I lived with them during that period. He allowed me to stay with him though his home was not really bigger. He showed his care and love for me with paying attention to my health, education and which I needed at that time. I really appreciated a time he spent with me. We were used to go on trips together. We would just spend days with either playing our guitars or read our favorite car magazines. I always felt gratefully towards him. He was like a father figure who would always give me encouragement.

I had been longing for my dream house. It will be an one-story wooden house with a huge courtyard, where I can grow whatever I like. It will be a living room, a dining room and three bedrooms. I will decorate my house a green way because it can make me to feel relaxed. With science and technology developing fast, many change will take place and the house will be smarter or smarter. For example, I will control a TV and a light just by talking to all of them. All of the housework will be done by robots, leave me more time to have fun and do something more meaningfully.

On a 28th floor of a 33-storey building downtown, my flat is not grand, and it is cozy. It is furnished with a romantic style and designed to be comfortable. I am proud of are the European-style furniture and the fancy wall papers. Every day I arrange some flowers on the table, which they can give life to the whole flat. The best part of it is the huge balcony on the south side. Stand on the balcony, I can get a brilliant view. What a life! I total run out of words describing how fantastic it is! I loved my flat not only because of the flat itself but also the feeling it bring me.

Once upon a time there was a rich man. He had a lot of money, but he felt unhappy all the times. Finally, the rich man left home to look happiness. He visited many places and met many rich men. All of them said they were not happy, too. On his way to home, the rich man saw a farmer work in the field. He went up to the farmer and asked, “Could you tell me if you feel happy?” “Yes, I’m quite happier. I always feel satisfying about everything in my life,” the farmer answered. “Please tell me how you find happiness,” asked the rich man. The farmer answered with a smile on his face. “It’s very easy of me to answer the question. If you work hardly, have three meals a day and go to bed early with worries, you’ll be the happiest man in the world.”

Yesterday, when I complained with my mom about too little entertainment, she share the story of her youth with me. In the 1980s, neither iPads nor smartphones were invented. Each time when evenings approached, the children around would crowd into the only house where had a television. We stared at the small screen until the program ended. Parent would make every effort to drag their children to bed when it was getting lately. But now, iPads and smartphones have taken place of televisions. No wonder my mom always says we are the generation growing up in a honey jar. After listen to my mom’s story I felt lucky to live so a happy and comfortable life.

There are a lot of unforgettable thing in our life. The most unforgettable one for me is the speech competition holding last year. When my English teacher told me that I had chosen to take part in the speech competition ,I devoted me to the preparation. I was determined to win the first prize. I was such nervous when I stood on the stage that I forgot everything. Not until I caught a sight of my teacher did I calm down. Finally, I do a good job. When I heard I got the first prize, my heart was filled in joy and tears rolled down. Through this speech competition, I understand that it is confident that makes people successfully.
