【推荐1】How to Write a Good Résumé (简历)
Vicki Salemi, a career expert, said a résumé is a foot in the door of your career. Do you want to impress your employers with your skills or experiences, without flooding them with too much information?
Decide which skills to stress
Typically, companies will list the most important skills and responsibilities needed for the job in the advertisement. If the job description isn’t clear, turn to people at the company or those who work in the same industry for specific information about the required skills.
Keep a balance between soft and hard skills
Soft skills are the set of behaviors and personalities that you use every day, such as cooperation and problem–solving. Hard skills are technical like computer programming. Both of them are important. But you can only keep the skills section of your résumé limited to between six and eight skills.
Don’t just show a résumé with a list of skills and job titles. You also have to support them with concrete evidence. When describing a previous job, include any related achievements. For example, if you’re stating that you’re a salesman, you should talk about whether you won salesman of the month or how much you devoted to increase the sales. These specific details will help to convince the employers you are a qualified person.
Develop the skills you’re lacking
Don’t get discouraged if you’re lacking certain skills that are key for the position you’re applying for.
A.Back skills up with evidence |
B.Instead, work on developing them. |
C.Share details of your life experience |
D.You should include as many skills as possible. |
E.Here are some tips for an eye-catching résumé. |
F.Then you need to highlight (突出) these skills on your résumé. |
G.If you want to include more, put your soft skills into the professional history. |

I remember that weekend two years ago. Family and friends had flown in from across the country to watch our class walk across that stage. But like everyone else in my graduating class, I had watched the economy turn from bad to worse. What I thought would take a week dragged into two. and then four, and 100 job applications later, I found myself in the exact same spot as 1 was before. And the due date to begin paying back my student loans was creeping ever closer.
You know that feeling when you wake up and you are just consumed with fear? Fear about something you can't control—that sense of approaching failure that remains over you as you hope that everything that happened to you thus far was just a bad dream? That feeling became a constant in my life. And the most frustrating part was no matter how much 1 tried, 1 just couldn't seem to make any progress.
So what did I do to maintain my sanity(理智)? I wrote. Something about putting words on a page made everything seem a little clearer—a little brighter. Something about writing gave me hope. And if you want something badly enough... sometimes a little hope is all you need! So I channeled my frustration into a children's book. And then one day, without any sort of writing degree or contacts in the writing world — just a lol of hard work and perseverance—I was offered a publishing contract for my first book! After that, things slowly began to fall into place. 1 was offered a second book deal. Then, a few months later, I got an interview with The Walt Disney Company and was hired shortly after.
The moral of this story is... don't give up. Even if things look bleak now, don't give up. Things change If you work hard, give it time, and don't give up, things will always get better Oftentimes all we need is the courage to push beyond the river.

【推荐3】Several years ago, most young Britons wanted a career in law, to be a doctor, or, if they were creative enough, to take up singing. But today, things stand differently.
According to a survey by Tesco Mobile, a UK telecoms company, the “dream job” of young people aged between 16 and 25 in the UK is a video blogger, or “vlogger”. The survey, carried out among 1,002 people, found that as much as 40 percent of them put vlogger as their number one choice on a list of ideal careers. The single factor contributing to this change is undoubtedly the internet and social media. They have made it so much easier to reach a global audience, without having to enter a career in show business in the traditional way.
“In years that have gone by, the biggest stars were recommended and trained by the Hollywood studios; now, anyone with a computer camera can become an idol,” a Tesco Mobile spokesperson said in a news release. “From fashion to comedy, these self-made stars document their hobbies to an adoring fan-base. Vloggers are the big stars of today because they are normal people interacting with their fans about everyday life.”
However, what people see is only the bright side of being a vlogger and they ignore the fact that only those who are successful gain fame and fortune. For every success there are a hundred others who never get off the starting block. This is why despite the popularity of vloggers, some young people chose to follow careers that don’t necessarily earn them fame, but allow them to make good use of the internet to share their hobbies.
Young Israeli David Leshaw, for example, runs a business called the Finishers Club. It’s an online platform for runners to keep a record of their races. He told the career website Zippia that his job allows him to express his passion, and is always a learning experience. And that’s enough for him.
