After college I wanted to make a difference in the world, so I became a volunteer teacher and    1    （send）to Namibia. Honestly, my first choice wasn't Africa, but I am extremely grateful that I had the chance. So with a group of    2    （equal）eager young graduates, I went on my journey.

If you’re a grandparent, shaking a leg with your grandchild might benefit both of you. That’s the conclusion of a new study from Israel, where researchers examined how dancing together     1     (positive) affected 16 grandmas and granddaughters. They’ve discovered it can encourage exercise and can also     2     (deep) ties between the two generations. Dancing “promoted physical activity even when the body was tired and weak,” said the study author. “This emphasizes the significance of the close and familiar relationship as     3     means to promote new experiences,     4     can occasionally seem impossible for the older person.”

The granddaughters teamed     5     their grandmas for three free-form dance sessions. They danced once a week for 10 to 15 minutes in their grandmother’s home. Researchers have discovered the people with the     1    (healthy) hearts in the world. The Tsimané people live in the Amazon basin of Bolivia and have almost no risk of serious heart disease because     2     their plant­based diet and high levels of physical activity. Besides     3    (have) a healthy heart, the Tsimané also have low blood pressure and low blood sugar. This     4    (mean) they are free of many of the diseases and conditions     5     kill hundreds of millions around the world. A study showed that an 80­year­old Tsimané person has     6     same cardiovascular(心血管的) age as an American in his mid­50s.

The study on the Tsimané was published in the medical journal The Lancet. The study co­author Dr Gregory S. Thomas stated, “This study suggests that some diseases could     7    (avoid) if people adopted some elements of the Tsimané lifestyle, such as keeping their blood pressure and blood sugar very low, not smoking and being     8    (physical) active.” He added, “It may not be possible for people in the industrialised world     9    (copy) the Tsimané community’s way of life, but there are certainly     10    (aspect) of their diet and lifestyle that we can better bring into our lives to help reduce our risk of heart disease.”
