The Great Wall is one of the wonders (奇迹) of the world. Every year _______ of tourists from all over the world come to visit this place of interest in China.

Last Saturday I went to the Great Wall with some of my friends. It was a _______ day. On our way up, we saw many volunteers _______ working in the sun. They helped the elders with their bags, took photos for some tourists and _______ people’s questions. Though (尽管) they were very _______, they didn’t stop to have a rest. We were deeply moved _______ we saw this.

Just at the moment, we saw a little boy standing alone and _______. We went over and asked what happened _______ him. From his answer we knew that he couldn’t find his mother. We told him not to _______ it and then we tried to get in touch with his mother with the phone number he gave us. Twenty minutes later, his mother turned up. When she saw her son, she was very excited and thanked ________ with tears (眼泪) in her eyes. 

That day we not only enjoyed the beauty of the Great Wall, but also felt the warmth of the society. If everyone can reach out a helping hand to others, the world will be more and more harmonious (和谐的). Do you think so?

Mr and Mrs White are my neighbours. Their house is small but they have a large garden. And they spend many happy hours working on it every day. We all agree the garden is great. While we spend our dollars in the market, the old couple can pick vegetables in their own garden.

Last month, Mr and Mrs White invited most of the neighbours to their garden for an “all-day food festival”. They asked us to bring gloves and arrive early in the morning. We didn’t know what would take place.

By 9:00 a.m., there were nine of us in the garden picking tomatoes, beans and other vegetables. At lunch, there were lots of laughs. We shared a lot of stories. After dinner, we played games. Before we left, Mr and Mrs White gave each of us a shopping bag filled with vegetables. What a great gift!

Of course I loved the green vegetables, but I loved the happy time being with my neighbours more. Mr and Mrs White were so nice that they helped us learn from each other better. Now Mr and Mrs White have a blog about gardening. They teach us to grow vegetables online. And I can’t wait to see my tomato plants bear fruit .

Day 1 — Arrive in Beijing

Arrive in Beijing in the morning. The guide will meet you in the airport (机场) and he will take you to the hotel. You will visit the National Science Museum. It will take you about one hour to go there by car.

Day 2 — Beijing

After breakfast, you will go to Tian'anmen Square. You will stay there for one hour and then you'll go to the Palace Museum.

Day 3 — Beijing

The most important part is a visit to the Great Wall. It is one of the most important symbols in China, and many people visit it every day.

Day 4 — Beijing / Shanghai

Take a plane to Shanghai in the morning. After lunch, you will visit the Yuyuan Garden. It's very beautiful, and I'm sure you will like it. Then you can take a walk through the Old Town. It is full of stores, so you can buy some specialties (特产) for your family.

Day 5 — Shanghai

You will have a day trip to the Zhujiajiao Water Town and have a fast lunch there. In the evening, you will go back home by plane. Service ends.

Without classes and exams, the summer vacation is an ideal time for Australian kids. For me, Nancy, it means much more than not going to school. It is also a golden chance (机会) to spend time with my family because I have little time with them during the school year.

Last summer vacation I travelled with my family to the Hawkesbury River in Western Sydney. It was one of the most unforgettable summer vacations in my life.

Staying by the river helps us escape (逃脱) from the hot weather and noise of the city. Every day, my family and I got up early to go swimming in the cool water. In the morning, we all took part in a big game. We enjoyed water-skiing, wakeboarding (尾波滑水) and other activities. These activities made our family feel closer.

In the warm afternoon, we peacefully (平静地) read books on hammocks hung among trees by the river. The days always ended with a campfire. We sat around the fire, talking and laughing.

The river is a perfect place for people to forget about all the stresses of life and simply enjoy the moment. To me, it is the perfect place to spend time together with my family. I can’t help thinking about those days again and again even though so many months has passed.
