Sometimes I dream about life in the future. What will it be?

    31     And some scientists will build cities under the sea to make people live there. We can have a medical examination or do some shopping without leaving our homes, which makes the life more convenient (方便的).     32    

And I’m sure there will be more educational programmes on the radio or TV or over the Internet or videophones, so perhaps some children won’t need to go to school every day.     33    

In the future, all electric equipment (电子设备) at home is under the control of computers. People can learn about the situation of the house by working on the computer at the office.     34     Maybe each family will have a robot. Every day we can tell the robot how to do the shopping, housework and so on.

In the future, we won’t use    36    to write on. We can study on computers. And there will be fewer cars and    37    pollution. Everyone will play a    38    in protecting the earth. The sea will be cleaner and the sky will be bluer. So the    39    will get better and better.

I believe people will even have robots in their homes. They can help with the housework. Of course, there are    40    robots working in factories now. They do simple jobs over and over again. And they will never get    41    .

Pepper works in a supermarket in Germany. He is different from other employees (雇员). Pepper is a robot that looks like a human.

A Japanese company made Pepper in 2014. Pepper is as tall as a six-year-old kid. He has cameras. They help him recognize things around him. There are wheels under his body. They help Pepper move.

The robot can do a lot of things. He can read people’s emotions (感情) and communicate with people. He can also teach students about programming.

Life in the future will be different from life today. Many changes will happen. But what will the changes be?

    64     There will be many people in the world and most of them will live longer than people live now.

    65     There will be at least one in every home. And computer studies will be one of the most important subjects in school then.

    66     They will have more free time for doing sports, watching TV and traveling. Traveling will be much cheaper and easier. And more people will go to other countries for holidays.

    67     More land will be used for building new towns and houses for all the people. Then there will be less room for cows and sheep, so meat will be more expensive. Maybe no one will eat meat every day. Instead they will eat more fruit and vegetables. Maybe people will be healthier.

Work will be different in the future, too. Robots will do dangerous and hard work. Because of this, people will not have enough work to do. This will be a problem.
