I’m Lin Dan and Li Tao is my pen fiend. He lives in the countryside and his family is poor (贫穷的). His father is always sick (生病的). My father often helps his family.

This Friday morning, I call Li Tao and ask him to visit Hefei. I meet him at the train station in the evening. Then we go to my home. On Saturday morning, I take him to a party by bus and we go to a bookstore to buy books by subway. In the afternoon, we watch some music shows. In the evening, I take him to watch a movie. On Sunday, we go to the museum (博物馆), see many new things and enjoy an art show there.

He says to me, “I have a happy time in Hefei. When I go back home, I’ll study very hard. I want to make a good life for my family later on.”

Let me tell you something about how to keep your children safe when they go to school alone (独自). The following things are very important. And you should tell your children these.

◆Take the same way to school and go back home.

◆Don’t stop to play or talk with someone you don’t know.

◆If you are crossing the street, remember to go on crossing when the traffic light (交通信号灯) turns red. But don’t begin to walk if the red light is on.

◆You should cross the street at crosswalks (人行横道). (Don’t cross in the middle of the street.)

◆Don’t cross the street between parked cars. Remember to look all ways before you cross the street.

◆Use your eyes and ears before you use your feet.

Hi! My name is Finley Molly. I’m seven years old and I live in New York, the USA, with a nice family. They’re Cherie, Rob and their daughter Erin Molly. I’m very good with them.

I’m a big brown dog with a very big mouth. I enjoy playing with tennis balls. I can hold (咬住) six tennis balls in my mouth at a time.

I’m good at getting things back, such as getting balls, books, clothes and so on. Every time the family take me to swim in the river near our home, they take a tennis ball for me. When I see some kayakers (皮划艇运动员) on the water, I always swim to them with my tennis ball and put it in the water near them. Then, they’ll play with me.

Krithi lives in India. She loves animals. Every Saturday, Krithi goes to Blue Cross, an animal organization (组织). She cares for (照顾) animals, walks them and plays with them there. Some animals need special care, so she spends lots of time on those animals.

Krithi also starts (创办) FurEver, an animal club, at school. She gets much help, from her math teacher. After school, she spends her time with other students of the animal club. They meet every week to think about their activities. Through those activities, they raise (筹集) money for the club to help animals.

When Krithi is free, she writes a book about her dog, Sushi. Krithi and her family love him very much.

“He knows how I feel,” Krithi says. “When I feel unhappy, he makes me feel better. He brings happiness to everyone in my family.”

Sushi makes everyone feel loved and happy, so Krithi wants to write a book about her dog called Super Sushi. What will she do with the money from the book? She says she’ll give it to an animal organization.

Krithi hopes to be an animal lawyer (律师) one day. Then Krithi can do more for her animal friends.

Anne is a very cute koala from Australia. She has two brothers and two sisters. They live in a house in a big tree. One day, their mom tells them they can go out to play. Anne’s brothers and sisters are very happy about that. They climb down the tree right now, but Anne doesn’t want to go out.

“You must go out,” Anne’s mom says. Then she opens the door (开门) and asks Anne to climb down the tree. Anne has to climb down the tree. Under the big tree, Anne finds everything is interesting. She wants to know more about all the things. She makes friends with an elephant and a cat. They show Anne around and take her to look for food. At half past six in the evening, Anne goes home. When she has dinner with her family, she tells her mom it’s nice to go out. And she will go out again.
