	I enjoy painting very much, and I like painting animals. I often cut a picture of an animal into 3 parts. For each part, I paint with different colours. When I put the three parts together
	I sometimes use clay to make a sun. I can use a knife to cut the clay into a sun and draw eyes, a nose and a mouth on the sun. Look! The sun is smiling. I think it is really interesting.
	I often teach my classmates to make Chinese paper-cut. We can cut out different houses with scissors and knives. Then we put on pretty doors and windows. The houses look very beautiful!
	Colourful paper is good for painting, paper cutting and other works. We often share （ 分享） the paper with each other. We can make different kinds of art works with it.

A yurt comes from Mongolia, Siberia and Turkey. It’s a circle-shaped tent made from animal skins.

When talking about how big a yurt is, the answer isn’t easy because it can be different from small ones for only one or two people right up to large party-sized yurts! Yurts in old days would be smaller because people had to be able to put them up, take them down and then go with them. It’s a living or sleeping place at first, but now the use of yurts is for a break time where people can get fun during holidays.

Yurts are made out of a wooden framework（木质框架）with animal skins before. These are good to keep people warm, dry and comfortable—but nowadays yurts change a lot. A modern yurt is made out of canvas（ 帆布）, as time goes, you may find yurts using different things and ways of building.

A yurt holiday can be really great—but you need to make sure you are fully ready for it. It still isn’t quite like staying in a hotel after all.

Try new things you may never think about. In this way, you can learn a lot of new things and find the one you really love at last. Some students don’t want to take art or PE, because they think they are not good at it or they don’t like it. In fact, you should try it yourself to see if it is something you may enjoy.

Second, try something musical.

Music is another language and it can teach students to think and learn differently. Middle school is a good time for you to learn about your talent on music. You should try to learn some music when you have time to do so and make it a hobby. You can benefit（ 受益于）from it in the future.

Third, try something useful.

Most middle school teachers teach some other subjects at the same time. For example, a middle school math teacher may also teach science. Skills and information（信息）you learn in electives can help you learn other subjects. They can even be useful in high school. So you can think about the things you like first and choose something really useful for you.

Choosing electives is not easy as looking at the list. But it can be very important for your study.
