My grandfather died on Thanksgiving Day. On his funeral (葬礼), his brothers told us about the days they ________ with him. They talked about the days ________ they were children. They lived in a poor place, ________ they had a good time there. They went out for adventures ________; they spent holidays together.

________ their eyes, my grandfather was understanding and kind-hearted. Whenever they met a problem, he would be there. He always brought ________ to other people. Everyone kept drinking and ________ stories about my grandfather. To my ________, there was laughter when they talked. ________   was laughing; not polite smiles, but loud laughter. The louder their laughter was, the more ________ I felt. So I asked my mum ________, “Grandfather is dead. How can they laugh?”

“What is the most important thing you remember about your grandfather?” my mum asked.

“He ________ want us to be sad. He wanted everyone to be happy,” I answered.

Yes. Of all the things I remembered about my grandfather, his laughter ________ me most. He always dealt with things ________ a positive way. No matter how hard his life was, he always laughed. I didn’t know ________ heaven looks like, but I believe that it must be filled with my grandfather’s laughter.

Yi Xiaoyuan, a student at Tsinghua University, says that his health problem has made him stronger. “Disabled people in China don’t need money or sympathy(同情心),” Yi says, “What we need is a chance.” He has been in a wheelchair for eleven years, since he was eleven years old.

Yi was born in Yuxi, Yunnan Province. For the six years of his life, he developed normally. However, at the age of six, the trouble started. By eleven, walking had become too hard for him, and he had to use a wheelchair. From then on, Yi’s parents did everything they could to give their son a chance to overcome(克服) his disability.

“My parents gave up many chances because of me,” he says. “My father could have been promoted(升职), but he would have gone to Kunming, away from Yuxi. So he turned it down.” Guo Qiongfen, Yi’s mother, left behind her job as well as her 10-year-old daughter and her husband in Yuxi, to care for her son in Beijing. Although the school has done a lot to help them, without Yi’s mother, life would still be too hard for him. Every day, his mother helps him wash, dress and help him to go to class in his wheelchair.

Although with health problems, Yi was a good student at school. He got the 16th highest grade in Yunnan Province and entered Tsinghua University. His dream came true. And at university, he also does very well. He has joined the debate team(辩论队) as well as study groups. He has made many friends. When he is late for class, his teachers wait.

This is what Yi wants. Give him an opportunity, he says, and he will show you he can succeed. “Most people in China will show sympathy for the disabled, thinking that they need to help us,” Yi says. “But that’s not what we need. We need the chance to create our own future, the chance to try our best.”

Jeff Lebo, 51, has collected thousands of unique (独特的) cans from around the world. Now the beer can collector has turned his record-breaking collection of more than 83000 cans into a hotel, with guestrooms decorated (装饰) with wall-to-wall cans in the forest of the Conewago Mountains, Pennsylvania.

With the five bedrooms and two bathrooms, the hotel can hold up to 10 people. Mr Lebo has equipped (配备) each room with all of the usual home comforts. He also decorated each room with themed beer cans from different countries, including America, Europe and Asia.

Guests from around the world even bring additional cans to add to the collection. Mr Lebo said, “I collect beer cans from around the world and I’m always looking for new cans.”
