When you start junior high, you start a new life. You meet new classmates and make friends with them. You also meet new teachers and have different lessons. Here is a poster about the elective courses at your school.

I usually wake up at 6:30 a.m. I pack my schoolbag and get to the bus stop by 7:00 a.m.

The first part of the day is called “assembly” at 8:00 a.m. All the students get together in the school and the headteacher talks to us. Our lessons begin at 8:30 a.m. My favourite lessons are Maths and Chemistry. I think I’m better at Science subjects than Art subjects.

We have a break at 11 a.m. Then we have one more lesson before lunch. At lunchtime, we can buy food from the school canteen or we can bring our own lunch in. After lunch, I have a chat with my friends. I like being sociable at school. I am quite shy sometimes, but the students in my class are friendly and we get on well.

Our school offers some interesting subjects like Coding (learning how to programme) and Citizenship (learning how to be a good person in society). I have coding lessons every Wednesday and Friday. I like coding, and I am good at it.

School finishes at about 5:00 p.m. Then we take the bus home. Usually, we have about 1 hour of homework every night.

Most of the time, I enjoy school, but I always look forward to the school holidays!

The biggest feeling when I started junior high school was excitement. I’m excited because I get to make great progress (进步) and learn more knowledge. I am excited because I can say goodbye to my past life and start a new journey. I am looking forward to making new friends. All in all, I just want to say: “Junior high school, I am coming!”

From last two month’s experience, I learned that there are lots of chances and challenges (挑战) in middle school. We need to catch chances and work hard to get good results.

Last month, I took part in the School Chinese Poetry Competition (中国诗词大赛 ) along with my classmates. We tried our best to memorize every poem and get ready for it well. Luckily, we won first prize in the competition! I’m really proud of what we have done. I learned that success only comes with effort (努力).

I have eight classes every day including Chinese, Maths, English, art and music. Among these subjects, I like English best. Although I am a little weak in it, I am still interested in it.

Another reason I like English is that I like our English teacher, Miss Liu, very much. She is a both friendly and strict person. All of my classmates like her. After school, we have some clubs. I am a member of the Art Club. It’s really fun.

We draw a lot of pictures in the club. You see! My school life is very colorful! I enjoy it very much.

Lily is from Shanghai. But her parents have new jobs in England. S    71     the whole family is moving there. They pack all their things. They go to the airport.

Lily does not get out of the car. She is asleep!
