Ben is eleven. He has a sister, Kate. Both of them like going to the cinema. Every Sunday morning, they go to the town by train and then they go to the cinema because they live in the country and there is no cinema there.

They arrive in the town at noon. They usually have a big lunch in their favorite restaurant first, and then they buy some food in the supermarket before they go to their favorite cinema called Star Cinema. They like it because the seats there are comfortable and the films in the cinema are always the newest. They always have a good time on Sundays. But when the weather is bad or they are busy with their homework, they can’t go to the cinema.

Everyone has a hero. So do I. My hero is Clara Barton.

Clara Barton was born on Christmas Day in 1821. She was the youngest of the five children in her family.

When Clara was eleven years old, her brother David fell down from a roof. He became very sick. Clara spent the next two years taking care of him. The doctors didn’t think David would get any better. But Clara didn’t want to give up her brother. With her help, her brother finally got better. When Clara was looking after her brother, she found that she really enjoyed taking care of others, so Clara decided to become a nurse and she made it.

During the Civil War (内战), Clara traveled from one battle to another. She tried her best to help the soldiers (士兵) get back to health. She was very brave. She went right up to the place where the fight was taking place. Many soldiers liked her, and she became known as “the Angel of the Battlefield”.
