Planting flowers is my favorite hobby. I can learn something new ________ it.

Also you can try to count numbers when you are lying in bed. By the time you reach one thousand, you will be asleep. I’m sure of it.”

The next day, Jane came to see the doctor again: “Well,” said the doctor, “how are you feeling today?”

Jane still looked sleepy and tired. “Yes,” she said, I tried to count one, two, three, four ... up to one thousand. But when I reached five hundred and sixty, I feel sleepy. I had to get up and drink some coffee so that I could go on counting up to one thousand. But then I still couldn’t fall asleep.

A habit is something we do very often. We can have good habits to keep healthy. “Early to bed and early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise.” This is an old saying. It means that we must go to bed early and get up early in the morning. If we do, we shall be healthy. We can also be rich and clever.

Is this true? Perhaps it is. The body must have enough sleep. Children of your age need ten hours, sleep every night. If you do not go to bed early, you can’t have enough sleep. Then you can’t think clearly and you can’t do your work well.

Some people go to bed late at night and get up late in the morning. This is not good for them. We must sleep at night when it is dark. The dark helps us to sleep easily. When the daylight come, we must get up. This is the time for exercise. Exercise means doing things with the body. Walking, running, jumping, swimming, playing games are all exercises. If the body is not used, it becomes weak. Exercise keeps it strong. If we keep our bodies healthy, and take exercise, we can think better.

A hobby can make our life very interesting. You can learn a lot when you are enjoying your hobbies.     36     Here are some suggestions and they may help you get a hobby.

    37     If you like to cook, buy a cookbook and practice cooking in the kitchen. When you like to do something, you may become interested in it.

Try something different.     38     You can try to do a different thing in a new year. If you like it, then have this hobby as a new gift.

    39     Your hobby gives you something to share with others. If you are learning card-making, then you can use cards as gifts. Hobbies like music and painting help you to share the fine experience (体验) of art. Having a hobby gives you a reason to share with another person.

Take your hobby to the next level. If you prefer pop music, visit a singer’s website.     40     Make it fun for everyone.
