Let’s hope you’re not afraid of dogs, as robot dogs may soon be used to send packages (包裹) in the future.
A German company showed something different at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, USA—a robot dog that can send packages. The special dog caught many people’s eye.
The name of the robot dog is ANYmal. It’s part of the company’s research into the future of mobility (移动性). The company worked with a Swiss company to think about the future of packages delivery (派送). At the CES, it showed how the four-legged robot could jump out of a self-driving truck and carry a package to someone’s front door.
In the short video, people could see the ANYmal robot picking its way slowly through the garden and walking up to the stairs. Finally, the robot dog rang the doorbell with one of its legs and placed the package onto the front porch (门廊). After finishing all the work, ANYmal even did a little dance as a gift for itself. ANYmal can work 24 hours every day and send the package in harsh indoor and outdoor environments, through rain, storms, winds and snow.
Will robot dogs take the place of human deliverers in the future? Let’s wait and see.
