☆Art Club for the old people to draw and show their works of art. Members can also sell their drawings. We will buy drawing tools with the money for club members.

Meeting: Wednesdays & Sundays from 1 p.m.to 3 p.m.in the Masonic Cultural Center Art Studio.

☆Computer Club. All the old people can join this club, whether you don’t know how to use a computer or want to learn to use it better. The club has a computer room with fast Internet connection. Members of the club can go there on the weekend for free.

Meeting details: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1 p.m.to 3 p.m.in the Computer Room in the Masonic Cultural Center.

☆Tai Chi Club for old people. Tai Chi is one kind of Chinese kung fu. Playing Tai Chi is good for the health of old people.

Meeting details: Wednesdays from 3:30 p.m.to 5:00 p.m.in the Irem Clubhouse.

I usually travel with my family every summer. Many people like to travel by plane. But I don’t, because the airport is usually far from the city. We have to get there early and wait for hours for the plane to take off(起飞) and it is often late. People can’t open the window or choose(选择) what they want to eat. Planes are fast(快的), but it takes hours to get from the airport to the place you want to go after you arrive.

I like traveling by train. I think it’s safe(安全的) and comfortable. Railway stations are usually in cities. When I arrive late for a train, I can take another one. I can walk in the train and choose what I like to eat on the train. I can see many interesting things on the way, but it also takes a little more time and the train sometimes isn’t on time.

I also like traveling by car. I can drive and stop my car at any time I want to, and I don’t need to go to a train station or an airport (机场). I can take many things with me in a car, but sometimes there are too many cars on the road. But as the saying goes, “You can’t have everything in life.” What do you think of my ideas for travelling? Let’s have a look at American students’ school life. On school days, American students usually get up at 7:00 a.m. Most students walk or take a yellow school bus to school. Some students ride bikes. After they arrive at school at about 8:30 a.m., they meet their friends and talk about their activities (活动). They put their backpack in a small cupboard (衣柜) and take out only one book, some writing paper and a pencil for each class. In the middle school, they take only five or six subjects each term. They usually go to the same class every day, and they have homework for every class. At noon, the students eat lunch at school.

They often have meat, vegetables, fruit and some drinks. However, some students prefer (更喜欢) pizza, hot dogs or hamburgers. At 13:00 in the afternoon, they begin to have classes. Their classes are always over at 15:00. Then they join the school clubs or play sports. They go back home at about 5:30 p.m.
