In winter, many Chinese people enjoy hot dumplings (jiaozi) for dinner. Dumplings, however, are popular not only in China. People in Poland (波兰) love dumplings, too. Of course, their favourite dumplings are not called jiaozi. Instead, they are called pierogi.
Beata Jasek, a woman in southern Poland, makes pierogi by hand every day. She likes this job very much. “Pierogi are my life, ” she said. “And I’m glad to see people like my pierogi.”
As with jiaozi, pierogi are not easy to make. First, you roll out the dough (生面团) thinly and cut it into small rounds. Then, you fill the rounds with plums(梅子), cherries, cheese or salmon (三文鱼肉). After that, you fold the rounds in half and seal (把……封上) them by pressing along the edges (边). Make sure the fillings won’t fall out when you are boiling these pierogi.
Jasek has made pierogi for 15 years. She is very skillful in making the dumplings. On September 24, 2019, she broke the Guinness World Record for the fastest pierogi making. She made 1, 066 pierogi in one hour!
The Spring Festival is just around the corner. Do you have any wishes for the New Year? Perhaps you can think about your skills at one of your favourite hobbies—just as Jasek has done.

Cost, food and storage—It’s important to know how much the visit will cost. You hate to decide whether or not you can eat there. You might also need to find out about our transportation needs, as well as storage for coats, bags etc..
Learn at least one thing on your visit. It’s always good to take away something new from your visit.
Plan breaks into your visit. When you walk around, standing here and studying exhibits there, you may become very tired. So it’s important to take breaks. A break is a good opportunity for you to think of what you have seen and what else you might want to do in the museum.
