A farmer had a donkey.   One day it fell into a deep dry well. The poor animal cried for hours. The farmer tried hard to pull it out but________   Finally, he decided the animal was too old, so it just wasn't worth it to try to ______ it. So he invited his neighbors to help him bury（埋葬）the old donkey in the well so that it would make him end its pain.

Welcome to Windsor Castle, the oldest and largest occupied castle in the world.

Windsor is one of the official residences（住所）of the Queen. As the Castle is a working Royal Palace, official engagements（公务）may occasionally（偶尔）limit access to those areas usually open to visitors.

Opening times and tickets

The castle is open at 9:30 a.m. and visitors are not allowed to enter the castle after 5:00 p.m. Tickets should be bought at least 22 hours before you visit it. Please visit the website http://ticketsroyalcollection.org.uk for more ticket information.

Tours of the Castle

Free audio tours and guidebooks are available on leaving the Admission Centre at the start of your visit. The tours introduce Windsor’s history and the Castle’s use today. Accompanied by Castle Wardens（守卫）, the tours are free of charge and take approximately 30 minutes.

Visitors with children

For those visiting with children, a special family tour and various activities are offered during school holidays and at weekends. For safety reasons, pushchairs are not allowed in the State Apartment. However, baby carriers are available to borrow.

Photography and mobile phones

Non-commercial（非商业性质的）photography and filming are welcomed in the Castle. Photography, video recording and filming are not permitted inside the State Apartments or St George’s Chapel. Mobile phones must be turned off inside these two places.

Security

As Winter Castle is a working royal palace, visitors and their personal things should get through airport-style security checks at the entry（入口处）. For safety and security reasons a one-way system operates along the visitor route.

“With one more world championship, I can apply for the Guinness World Records（吉尼斯世界纪录）,” said Chen Yongning, a 93-year-old ping-pong lover in Chengdu, capital of southwest China’s Sichuan Province, Red Star News reported on April 2nd, 2019. With 80 years of experience and a racket that he bought from a stationery shop for 15 yuan, Chen won World Veteran Championships in 2016 and 2018.

“I’m not tired. I play with my hands and arms, and my feet don’t move,” said Chen after playing ping pong for 40 minutes with a younger player Ye. “Chen is physically strong. He can usually play several games with us,” said Ye, explaining that Chen is energetic, though he is troubled by backache.”

Chen started to play ping pong when he was 13 years old. While he was playing with friends in his school playground, the headmaster saw Chen very carefully follow the rules of a game he was playing, while the other children tried to play tricks on each other. The headmaster called him over, gave him a ball and rackets, and asked Chen to play with him. Chen didn’t know how to play ping pong at that time, so he just followed the headmaster’s lead. Ever since that moment, he had fallen in love with it.

As he grew up, Chen worked in Shanxi Agricultural College(now Shanxi Agricultural University), where there were excellent ping-pong facilities. He sharpened his skills and took part in various competitions in his spare time, winning a number of local medals.

Chen has a son and a daughter. Both of them love their father and are successful in their own fields. One of them will go with Chen to the 20th World Veteran Championships which will be held in France next year.

Chen has already decided he won’t stop playing ping pong unless he is 100 years old.
