My wife and our two kids went with me to the post office a few weeks ago. An old man was standing in front of me. He was also trying to pay his electricity bill. His hands and arms were shaking. It seemed that he had a problem-he was 20 cents short of his total 118.70 dollars. Only twenty cents!
The lady behind the counter had the old man in such a state, asking for just cents. But instead of letting the man go and paying the 20 cents herself, she told the man that if his bill wasn’t paid in full, he would pay more next time for late fees.
Hearing this really upset me, so I walked up and asked the lady behind the counter to give all of his money back to him. I handed her my credit card and paid the bill for him.
The old man asked, “Why are you doing this?” as he was moved and began crying. I told him that it was the right thing to do. He thanked me over and over. He smiled at my two kids on his way out of the post office.
The best part of all of this was that he walked out of the post office and straight to a supermarket, where he bought a large bag of snacks. As I was starting the engine, he walked up to our car and handed the bag to our two kids through the window.

The dinosaurs lived on the earth for more than 165 millions years. But 65 million years ago, they suddenly disappeared. What happened to them? Let’s find the reasons from the following ideas.
The most popular idea about it is something about the minor planet(小行星)idea. A minor planet hit the earth one day 65 million years ago. The hit caused the death of all dinosaurs. Let’s go back to that day to see what happened. Everything was OK until a larger minor planet suddenly hit the earth. How terrible the hit was! It brought terrible result. It caused big fires, storms, earthquakes and volcano eruptions(火山爆发). The sun was covered by lots of dust. The earth became very cold because there was no sunlight. At first, the plants began to die, the grass-eating animals followed, and the meat-eating animals could not find food. At last, they began to eat each other. The dinosaurs both plant-eaters and meat-eaters, didn’t live through the disaster.
A British scientist thought that the change of the ratio of sex(性别比例)caused the disaster. After the hit, the temperature changed. There were more dinosaur boys than girls. Without enough dinosaur girls to hatch the eggs, the dinosaurs became fewer and fewer in number. What an interesting idea!

On the way home, I told Mom that I wanted to have fish for dinner. “That’s a good idea. We can buy one at the market,” she said.
