I went on vacation with my family last summer. We stayed in a house near the sea. “Wake up! It’s time to go fishing.” My mom woke me up. After having breakfast we got on a boat. It was really nice because there were only a few people. Getting up at 6 a. m. was really annoying and I wasn’t happy, but later, I had fun.
My uncle caught a big fish first. And my mom caught one, too. Next I caught a black drum(多须石首鱼). It was very heavy and it was difficult for me to take it. Then, my dad caught a big fish. The captain(船长) said no one caught a big fish like that one. We were all happy when we heard that. Later we tried to catch small ribbon fish(带鱼). My grandpa caught one, but it snapped the line(咬断绳子). My uncle caught one, but it also snapped the line. My dad caught one at last. It didn’t look so scary and was a little funny.
Finally our fishing activity was over, and we went back with all the fishes. We were tired but happy!

With a round face, short hair and a big nose, my dad is a hardworking worker in a factory in Beijing. He is very serious, but I know that everything he does is for the benefit of our family. He likes playing football, just like me. We always talk about football and play it together on weekends.
A few days ago, something interesting happened at home. It was a sunny Sunday and my dad didn’t go to work. After lunch, my dad was asleep and I felt a little bit bored. Suddenly, I had a funny idea. I decided to draw on my dad’s face while he was sleeping to surprise him and make him laugh.
I slowly drew on his face with my yellow, blue, red and green pens. It took me about 10 minutes to finish my dad’s “makeup”, but it didn’t wake him up.
Then I went back into the living room and pretend (假装) to watch TV. About half an hour later, my dad woke up, looked at himself in the mirror and asked me, “Am I the coolest Dad in the world?” It really made me laugh. Fathers don’t necessarily have to be serious all the time.
Now I live at school, and I really miss the little tricks (把戏) I like to play on him. Fathers play important roles in our mental development. To kids, the name of father is another name for love.
As the old saying goes, “________”

Sitting in front of the television is probably relaxing, but spending too much time in front of it may take years off your life. Watching less television may help you live a much longer life.
Australian researchers (研究者) studied more than 11, 000 people over the age of 25. Their study showed that if people watched TV for six hours a day, they lived about 4.8 years less than those who didn’t watch any television. Also, people who are over the age of 25 lose 22 minutes of life for every hour of TV that they watch.
Sitting in front of television isn’t healthy. The more TV you watch, the less exercise you’ll get. And the less exercise you get, the more likely it is that you’ll be ill.
Lennert Veerman, the researcher who led the study, says watching too much TV will influence (影响) people’s life expectancies (预期的寿命), even for people who have a good eating habit. He thinks it’s time for doctors to start asking their patients (病人) about how much TV they watch, as it can be indicator (指标) of their health.
As a result, Veerman has called on people to turn off their TV and get off the sofa to get some exercise. “Exercise is good,” He said, “Even light activity is good for healthy.”
