Everybody dreams. Some people thinks dreams can tell us about the future. Others think dreams tell us about ourselves. It’s     35     our brain is talking to us. Why are dreams often strange and hard to understand? Some people think our brain uses symbols (符号) to talk to us. When we fly, swim, or fall down in our dreams, it has a     36     meaning. Lots of doctors help people understand their dreams. They find the dreams tell us about our     37     and something we are afraid of.

These days, many scientists believe that dreams are very important. We have many activities and our brain receives a lot of information     38     the day. When we dream, our brain     39     the information that is not important and puts the most important information into our memories (记忆). As we learn more about the brain, we may find the answers to our questions about dreams.

On a mountain top, there was a nest full of the eggs of an eagle (鹰). One day a wind shook the nest _________ and one of the eggs dropped out! It rolled (滚动) down the mountainside slowly and finally came to a farm. The chickens there were very surprised to see this big egg. They decided to _________ it, so an old hen sat on it.

It was _________ for the old hen—the egg was too big—but her care and the heat from her body worked. The egg finally hatched (孵化) and an eagle came out. They called him Ted. It was unfortunate for Ted because the chickens raised him in the only way they knew—as a chicken. Therefore, when he grew bigger, he _________ he was only a chicken.

One day, a big eagle flew over the farm and shouted at Ted, “Why aren’t you flying up high with us?”

“I’m a chicken,” said Ted, “I can’t fly.”

“Of course you can. You are an eagle, not a chicken! Look at your wings. They are _________ mine!”

“But I can’t fly,” said Ted. “Yes, you can. Do as I do.”

Ted hesitated (犹豫) , then spread his huge wings for the _________ time. To his surprise, he soon found himself flying high in the sky.

There are many cities in most countries. But every country has one special city—the capital. For example, China’s capital city is Beijing.

The capital city is very important. It is home to a country’s central government (中央政府).

The capital city is very special, so countries do not often change it. But Indonesia is going to b    67     a new capital on the island of Borneo. Jakarta, the capital is sinking into the sea now. The city has taken out too much groundwater.

People cannot change the capital city easily in a few m    68    . It will take around 10 years and cost about $32 billion.

There are some interesting things to know about capital cities around the world.

Living on the ISS

Hello everyone, my name is Jessica Meir. I am an astronaut. I work on the International Space Station(国际空间站，缩写为ISS) as a flight engineer. Today, I will tell you something about what life is like on the ISS.

The ISS has over 425 cubic meters(立方米) of living space. I work here with astronauts from the United States, Russia, Japan, Canada and several other European countries. When we are on the ISS, we have to follow a detailed daily schedule. It tells us when to get up, eat, exercise, work, relax and go to sleep. We spend about two hours each day exercising. Without regular exercise, we would lose a certain amount of muscle and bone due to the microgravity (微重力) environment in space.

The food we eat is specifically designed for space missions. Some foods, such as cakes, can be eaten in space just the way they are eaten on the Earth. But some other foods are real challenges. For example, when you’re in space, you can’t shake salt onto food, because the salt would float away. As a result, we have to use special liquid salt.

When we are not busy doing experiments on the ISS, we can relax and have fun in a variety of ways. Like most of you, we listen to music, read books, play cards, watch movies and talk with our family members.

As you can see, the microgravity environment in space brings many challenges that don’t exist on the Earth. Would you like to live for some time on the ISS?
