Cindy looks in the mirror (镜子). “Oh, I’m too fat. I can not eat too much,” she says. “It’s time for breakfast, Cindy,” Mom says. “No, thanks, Mom. I don’t want to be late for school,” Cindy says. Then she takes an egg and two bananas and goes to school. “The egg is for breakfast and the bananas are for lunch,” she thinks.

In the morning, Cindy is hungry (饥饿) after the third class. She can not do well in class. She eats the bananas in the classroom for lunch. In the afternoon, Cindy can not listen to her teachers carefully in class. She is too hungry. At dinner, Cindy eats a lot. She thinks the food is so good. She doesn’t want to go on a diet any more.

Lisa is a 13-year-old girl. She lives with her parents and her brother Ben in the US.

“What can I buy for Dad, Mom?” Lisa asks.

Lisa’s mom looks around and says, “How about that blue tie (领带)? Your father has a black tie, but it’s too old.”
