Last Sunday, it was sunny and hot. We went to the mountains by bike. We played with water, took some photos, ran after some butterflies. How happy we were! Suddenly Linda shouted loudly. Oh, she saw a snake. “Don’t shout. It’s very normal (正常的) to see snakes in the mountains.” Bob said to her.

In the afternoon, we began to climb the mountain. When we were on the halfway, it began to rain. Linda and I were very scared. And we began to cry. Bob asked us to be calm (镇定的). With his help, we climbed down. Later, we went back home after the rain stopped. I think Bob is very brave. Do you think so?

Fast walking is the exercise between walking and race walking. A study shows that fast walking has become the most popular exercise in China and many people walk more than 5,000 steps a day. The results of the study from QQ users show that about 37% of the people choose fast walking as their favorite exercise, over 23% choose running and more than 14% choose riding bikes.

Fast walking and running are easy, cost little and work well, so they are popular. And many people would rather do exercise in nature than go to gyms. It’s best to walk fast for at least 10 minutes at a time and walk up to 6,000 steps every day.

The study also shows that people in Guiyang, Guizhou love sports most. On average(平均), everyone there walks 5,941 steps every day. It seems that people in places with a better environment and air are more willing to do sports.

Three rich ladies met every day by the river. They sat there and talked the whole day. Once the three ladies argued. One of them said. “Look, how white and beautiful my hands are!” Another one said, “My hands are more beautiful.” The third one said. “Mine are the beautiful ones.” An old beggar (乞丐) woman came up to them. “Beautiful ladies,” she said, “I’m old and can’t work. I’m hungry. Please give me something to eat.”

But the three ladies gave her nothing. They only asked, “Tell me, old woman, which one of us has the most beautiful hands?”

A farmer woman was also sitting by the river. She was poor and her hands were rough (粗糙的) because of hard work. The old woman came up to her and said, “I’m hungry. Please give me something to eat.” The farmer woman took out her only cake she had and gave her a half.

The old woman ate it and drank some water. Then she took the farmer woman by the hand, brought her before the rich ladies and said, “Now, I shall tell you whose hands are the most beautiful. The hands of the poor farmer woman are rough because of work, but they give us food; they are much more beautiful than your hands which have never done anything.”

Helen Keller lived in the U.S.A. She was a great woman.

When Helen was a baby, she got very sick. After many weeks, the doctor said, “She is better, but now she can’t see or can’t hear.” Her mother and father were very sad.

After a few years, things got worse. There was no way for Helen to speak with other people. She heard nothing. She saw nothing. She didn’t understand anything.

Then one day a teacher came to live with Helen and her family. The teacher helped Helen learn about words. Helen was a very bright child and soon she learned to spell her first word. When she was older, she went to college (大学).

Helen was very famous. She helped many blind (盲) and deaf (聋) people. She traveled around the world and helped many people.

Helen was a very old woman when she died. The world remembers her today as a brave and wonderful person. She was blind and deaf, but she found a way to see and hear.

Last summer, our teachers took us to have a barbecue (烧烤) on the beach. We grouped together at school and got on a bus. It took about one and a half hours on the road. Finally, we arrived at 10 a.m. Everyone got a little tired. Then we got some free time. Some students went to the beach while our teachers and the rest of the students went to the barbecue place.

When we were preparing for the barbecue meal, something unexpected happened. Ann, one of the girls on the beach, shouted for help. 3.We ran there to see Mary lying on the beach. Her cheeks (脸颊) were redder than usual. She got heatstroke (中暑)! Some teachers carried Mary to the medical room quickly. Everyone was worried about her.

4. A few minutes later, Mary woke up and all of us felt relaxed. It’s not a big deal. “Take a short rest and she’ll be all right,” said the doctor. We could finally have the barbecue.
