This is my school. There are many trees and flowers. The teaching building is big and tall. There is a big playground in our school. It’s very nice to have it. After 4:30 in the afternoon, many students come to the playground to play football and some students play table tennis in the table tennis room.

There are 1,200 students in 30 classes in our school. The students all like to study. The teachers in our school are very good. They help the students to study and sometimes play with them. All the students like them.

One way that scientists (科学家) learn about man is by studying animals. In this lab, the scientists are studying the relationship (关系) between diet and health.

They are studying the relationship between the amount (数量) of food the mice eat and their health. The mice are in three groups. All three groups are receiving the same healthy food. The first group is eating one cup of food each day, the second group is eating two cups, and the third group is eating three cups.

After three years, the healthiest group is the one that is only eating one cup of food each day. The mice in this group are a little thinner. But they are more active. Most of the day, they are running, playing with one another. Also, they are living longer. Mice usually live for two years. Most of the mice in this group are still alive after three years.

The second group of mice is healthy, too. They are active, but not as active as the thinner mice. They are only living about two years.

The last group of mice is receiving more food than the other two groups. Most of the day, these mice are eating or sleeping. They are not very active. These mice are living longer than the scientists thought—about a year and a half. But they are not healthy. They are sick more often than the other two groups.

Alex is a young boy. He likes music very much. He wants to play the piano and join (加入) the school music club. But all these things are difficult for him. Why? Because he has no hands.

Many people think it is impossible (不可能的) to play the piano with no hands. Alex is also one of them. He thinks he can’t play it. But he has a big dream when he is a kid. He always wants to be a good pianist.

But Alex’s parents always encourage (鼓励) him. His parents always tell him that where there is a will, there is a way. They find a nice music teacher for Alex. And they take him to music lessons every Tuesday and Thursday. At first, it’s really difficult for Alex to play the piano. But now, after about two years, the boy can play it well by arms. And now he’s not shy (害羞的)   any more. He often plays the piano in class. He sometimes joins the piano match of his school.
